Hell if he gets that much, we might as well keep Cutler and try everything possible to get a QB in next years draft. Even the top QBs in this years draft do not overly impress. I would not mind Webb in the second or third round, because we need to still TRY to help the position.

There are rumors that Alshon and the Bears are talking, but that is likely Alshon's Agent trying to push up the price. Right now I would love to see the Bears land Pryor even if it costs MORE than Alshon.

Rumors are that Pryor will get between 10-12 mil per season.

If this is the case, expect Hoyer to get fairly close to that. He honestly has a better resume just doesn't have the youth and upside. I wouldn't be surprised to see Hoyer get over $10 mil a year though.

It all depends on how much is guaranteed and how soon you can get out of it if things go wrong.

But if you are talking $12-$15 mil a year in a 4+ year contract that ties you to to Glennon or Hoyer or whoever, then you have to seriously consider keeping Cutler for 1 more year because the benefit of his contract is the ability to dump him. We can't tie ourselves to a Glennon for 3+ years. That would be an Emery type mistake.

And yes, the idea of just going with 2 rookies, Barkley and Shaw becomes damn tempting.

$15 mill for a career backup. I would just go with Hoyer and Barkley use that money to shore up OL get the number 1 pick next year draft Sam Darnold we should compete for the next 10 years.

Is that would you'd rather do? Take a guess as to how much hoyer is going to make. I'll give you a hint....it will be in the double digits.

Signing Glennon would be a chicken shit move by a scared GM who thinks he needs to go 9-7 to appease the ownership and fan base. I've said it before and I'll say it again. I'd much rather have another losing season with a rookie QB learning the ropes than eeking out a meaningless 9-7 season with someone like Glennon leading the way. If Pave means it when he says they're building for the long haul then he'll agree with me. You don't win SB's with backups like Glennon.

If the Bears sign this dude to $15 mil per season while letting Alshon walk, I will be taking a bath with the toaster.

We're not going 9-7 with Glennon at the helm.

You think Glennon is gonna lead us to a 9-7 season?

If pace signs the right secondary players and the bears have better luck with injuries, the defense should be top 10. Glennon would be a huge upgrade over Barkley. 9-7 is hardly laughable. It's a very reasonable expectation with a top 10 defense, a capable starter with upside, and I'm sure the bears will add a TE and OT as well.

Not really sure what's funny about it. In basically a season of work, he put up respectable numbers. A top 10 defense, a QB with a 2:1 TD/INT ratio, and a couple of new pieces on offense sounds like a team that can be competitive. Looking forward to your next gif though.

nothing wrong with signing glennon for 3 years assuming pace actually drafts a QB. People act like pace should just draft Watson/trubisky/kizer or whoever and all the sudden the qb spot is solved. All these guys will need time to develop.

Typical Bears if they sign him. Instead of drafting a QB, lets bring in a backup who we hope can become a consistent starter. Bears might be one of the worst run teams in all sports. Really wish the McCaskets did not own the team. How many teams that come off a 3-13 record go out and sign a backup to double digit millions. This will look like the Texans when they signed Brock. Just draft a QB, and do a rebuild like most successful teams in the NFL do.
