The defense led the team to the playoffs in 2018 and the NFL adding an extra team in the playoffs led the team to the playoffs in 2020. Mitch did not lead the Bears into the playoffs. I’d even argue that Santos had more to do with the Bears making the playoffs in 2020 than Trubisky.
This. Mitch looked like he may have had potential with another offseason but his 3rd year made his future clear.

Yep. I was willing to give Mitch the 3rd year but deep down I knew (Many knew) he was not the future. But I’m curious on why the poster I responded to believes Mitch led the Bears to the playoffs twice. When someone says lead, especially from the QB position I think of Rodgers, Brady, Mahomes, etc

"What is also certain is Trubisky was often very fortunate on his poor throws because many seemed to be so poor that even the defenders couldn't hang on to them. He got away with more than his share of dropped interceptions or he could have been even worse than he was." -- Ouch.

IMO Kevin White, both make Pace look like a bum. (Since the article clearly states since 2006) could argue Shae McClellin too.
I dont know how it gets any worse than Kevin White. The guy was the #7 pick in the draft and did basically nothing. Barely saw the field and when he did he was a total non factor. Just an awful pick.

So you are saying the if Tyler Bray played in all 16 games in 2018 and 2020 the Bears still make the playoffs?

No I’m not saying that, but I am saying the defense LED the team in 2018. Mitch Trubisky did not LEAD them to the playoffs. Trubisky played fine in 2018 but the defense was the key to that season. And in 2020 the fact the NFL change the rules LED the Bears to a playoff birth.

I get the 2020 one and it pissed me off because they (coaching staff) may have been fired by not making the playoffs…at least I would have hoped they would of been.
2018, the defense sure did play lights out. It was fun watching them beat up quarterbacks, score all those tds and hold opposing teams to under 18 pts a game.
