Looks like their taking all college arms..
Stock up on low minors and hope a couple of these guys push forward in 3-4 yrs..
Or
At least become tradeable for future needs

Well at this point in the draft its more about money management. I mean don't get me wrong they are going to draft a ton of college pitchers but it's not usually til the 20th+ round you start seeing a lot of HS arms come off. Basically the first 10 rounds are guys you HAVE to sign. 10-20 tends to be college org filler guys. After 20th round teams start to gamble on guys they may not sign.

17th round pick Remy, Peyton Central Arizona College RHP L/R J1 -- 6'2" 170lbs

2014 Rocky Mountain Showcase May 24, 2014
PG Grade: 9
Peyton Remy is a 2015 RHP with a 6-2 170 lb. frame from Parker, CO who attends Legend HS. Remy has a medium sized frame with a lean projectable build. He pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a long arm action. His arm works and he has arm speed. Remy uses a high leg lift and has a slight lean back at balance point. He has a fairly upright finish with projectable velocity. He throws an 11/5 curveball with good shape and downer action to it. He threw it better as the game went on. Remy throws a straight change up at 80 MPH and he maintains arm speed on that pitch. Remy has pitchability and competes well. There's more velocity in there with a couple minor adjustments. Interesting arm committed to New Mexico.

Scouting report coming out of HS

Interesting tid bit on Lange
One man who wasn’t surprised by Lange’s landing spot: his coach, Paul Mainieri. The LSU skipper has close friends in the Chicago front off and scout department, so he knew full well the Cubs were interested in his ace.“No, it wasn’t a shock for me at all,” Mainieri laughed. “I’d been lobbying for him for about a month with the Cubs. I’ve got a very close friend on the staff there, and it’s commonplace that some organizations will call the college coach and see what his impression of the player is. Obviously I have some strong feelings about Alex, and evidently some of their scouts agree with me.”

Seems there might be some inside intel there.

26th round Bonnin, Bryce Barbers Hill HS RHP R/R HS 6'0" 180lbs

Yay something interesting that isn't super obscure!

BA had him #73. MLB.com #74

Scouting grades: Fastball: 60 | Slider: 60 | Changeup: 45 | Control: 50 | Overall: 45
Entering his high school senior season, there was some question as to whether Bonnin was better as a position player or a pitcher. Arkansas lists him as a shortstop among its incoming recruits, and he does display arm strength, athleticism and offensive potential. But he might not make it to the Razorbacks because he came out firing fastballs up to 95 early in the year and could go in the top three rounds as a pitcher.

Bonnin's heater settled at 90-92 mph at times later in the spring, though he should have consistent plus velocity once he focuses on pitching and gets a little stronger. His slider has similar upside, usually arriving in the low 80s with sharp, late action and looking like a wipeout pitch when he runs it into the upper 80s. He rarely throws a changeup because he hasn't needed it against high school competition.

Bonnin throws across his body and with effort and a long arm. He has no problems finding the strike zone, but his mechanics and relatively small stature lead some scouts to project him as a reliever. Others think his athleticism gives him a chance to refine his delivery and make it as a starter.

Probably wont sign but you never know.

28th round Meredith, Kier Robert B Glenn HS CF L/L HS 5'9" 165lbs

Kier Meredith is a 2017 OF with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Winston-Salem, NC who attends Glenn HS. Medium athletic build with a strong lower half. 6.30 runner in the sixty, first step quickness may give him the best functional speed in the class, gets to full speed immediately and will wow scouts with home to first and steal times. Centerfield tools on defense, moves to the ball very well and is aggressive, will make the athletic play and defend the alleys, arm strength is playable. Left handed hitter, hits the ball out front from a drifting swing, has lots of barrel skills and will spray the ball to all fields, contact approach that he executes well. Leadoff/centerfield profile and he has all the tools and skills for it. Excellent student, verbal commitment to Clemson.

BA had him 215

32nd pick Ruth, Hunter Buchholz HS RHP R/R HS 6'2" 185lbs

MLB.com 151
BA 135
Scouting grades: Fastball: 55 | Slider: 50 | Changeup: 45 | Control: 45 | Overall: 45
After a successful summer showcase circuit tour that included participating in both the Perfect Game All-American Classic and UnderArmour All-American Game, Ruth looked like the type of high school right-hander who could move up boards with a strong spring. Instead, he went down with an elbow injury that needed Tommy John surgery, leaving his stock a bit up in the air.

When healthy, there's a lot to like in Ruth. There's a ton of arm strength, with Ruth getting the heater up to 95-96 mph at times. He'll often live off of his fastball, but he'll show a really good breaking ball and a feel for a changeup as well. There is some effort in his delivery, which is a bit unorthodox. That arm action along with elbow injury, does leave some wondering if he's more of a reliever in the future.

It's hard to figure out where good talent that has gone down with TJ surgery in high school should go in the Draft. Based on ability, Ruth definitely belongs in the top five rounds, with some scouts thinking he could have snuck into the conversation of high-upside high school players being discussed at the back end of the first round. If a team doesn't want to sign and rehab him, Ruth can stay home and head to Florida to get healthy there.
