Huge win. Nats are playing with house money with Strasburg going tomorrow, but that bullpen...I don't know if there's three more wins in there.

Tomorrow is probably a must win for Astros.

Verlander has been less than stellar this postseason. Wish Nats were able to push across more than just those two. Then to allow the Astros to tie immediately was disappointing.
Hoping Strasburg shuts them down from here. But that's no easy task.

Problem for the Nats is that they might only get two more innings out of Strasburg, and then it's off to the pen. They needed to build up a big lead while he was on the mound, because they're likely not going to be able to hold it using their low-leverage relievers tonight.

They will probably find a way. They seem to be catching all the breaks.

I'm guessing Martinez probably just leaves him out there for 130+ pitches.

Astros just can't get anything going offensively in this series is the main problem. Too many runners LOB. You don't score, you lose. Period.

Nats are a team of destiny. Great! Dave Martinez was about to get fired mid season. My how things change

When it was 3-2 after the Suzuki HR, the Nats would've had to play it relatively safe with their pen usage. Can't risk burning the only three guys you trust and then lose the game anyway. Now with a six run lead they have to sell out and win this game. You've got a day off coming up, so you even bring in Corbin if you have to, even though they really want him available for Game 3.

Davey Martinez pulling all the right buttons first 2 games. Both Scherzer and Strasburg 110 pitches after 8 days off each. Saving the pen tonight.

Bad Defense by the Astros tonight.

Bergman having a bad night on the field. He should have 2 errors instead of 1, but 2 badly misplayed balls.

Ex Cub Legend catcher Maldanado 2 passed balls.

Astros still can get back in the series.

I think my contrarian pick of the Nats winning the Series just got seriously good.

I see he didn’t learn from Maddon

His staters are often pushed more than 3 1/3 innings in the postseason.

Normally it would be, but the Nats are trying to win a seven game series using only six pitchers (!) against a superior team. It's insane what they're trying to do. Martinez has to manage this backwards, which is why he had to bring in Rodney when he had a one run lead--the worst thing that can happen to them is that they go all-in on a close game and burn 3-4 of their trusted arms and still end up losing, especially if there's no off day. It almost puts them out of the series, although they've built up some room to maneuver now with a 2-0 lead.
