if they can find a way to get him to actually move forward when he's handed the ball his numbers would probably increase significantly. that like .3333 of a second he just goes derp is just enough to get eaten by the opposing defensive line.

He's developed happy feet since he has become accustomed to defenders in the backfield

Sounds about right. He's somewhere between replacement level and slightly above replacement level in my view.
I think there's very few RBs legitimately above replacement level. On the list in the OP, I think only the top 5 are above replacement to the point where you actually pay them beyond their rookie contract. Granted, Zeke was at that level before he got signed too, but I don't think he is anymore. I think Montgomery will have another good year and it'll make for an interesting situation after 2022. I'm probably the biggest Monty fan around (wanted and predicted him to the Bears in that draft as my RB2), but I don't want them to give him another contract. Just not elite enough to pay double digit millions. Interested to see how Pace feels about paying RBs. He didn't pay Forte, but he was 30. Monty will only be 25 when he hits FA, so may not kill the Bears to re-sign him but meh.

I'm assuming Khalil Herbert could be part of his plan to replace him. I can't imagine them resigning Montgomery unless he goes like McCaffrey level insane (incredibly unlikely) or is willing to sign for a few million

So an actual former NFL running back has Swift 22nd well behind Monty. Meanwhile Ncog claims he is a top back because fantasy told him so.

In our favorite punching bag’s defense, MJD sucks as an analyst

Honestly didn't know he was an analyst. I would still value his opinion more than fantasy football projections given he played the position.

Yeah, there's no way I'm thinking about extending his contract unless he has some crazy All-Pro type of season.

I'm pretty much of the opinion that unless you have someone truly special at the position, like an Adrian Peterson—someone who looks like a future Hall of Famer, you should almost never re-sign RB's. Use them for their 3 or 4 good years, and then replace them with someone who has fresher legs. Montgomery isn't a scrub, but he's no Dalvin Cook or Alvin Kamara.

Swift clearly has the skill to ascend to a top5, top 10 back

What if Monty is around 1400-1600 total yards the next two years, would a Cohen+ like extension be acceptable in your opinion? Say 4yr 35 million with an out in year 4.

Swift is a good running back. Jury isn't out on that one
Yeah i think he's good but just don't know how good he'll be, which is why i said "how good" Lol.

I like both Akers and Gibson more as of right now. At least this is how i'm grading them for when it's time to do my fantasy drafts. I'd still draft Swift as my #2 RB but i'm taking the other 2 over him.

MJD said J.Winston will be a top 3 QB in fantasy football this year on Good Morning Football this morning.

I'm pretty sure his thoughts are purely based around fantasy after listening to him talk about rbs on NFLN yesterday. He doesn't sound like he knows what he's talking about either. Excited mixon will have the backfield to himself and Bernard won't be eating into his snap count. Honestly mixon when healthy got like 90% of the touches.

This isn't running back related, but he is one of the few people that still thinks cam Newton is good and expects him to have a big year.

No he didn't. He asked someone else if they thought he would be in like a trivia game
Watch it again. He didn't ask, he made that prediction and then the chick who was hosting didn't agree but they were playing a game. He still said that as his prediction.
