Come on Windy, you know the Cutler contract was fantastic. Nothing short of genius.
Of course it is hindsight, but that is how we are all judged, by how our decisions work out.
The point was Emery has made mistakes, many of the decisions I was cook with when they happened, but they turned into mistakes. Why we would try and add backup KR is beyond me.
When we are ripping Trestman and Emery lets do it with things that are realistic to rip them for.
Cutler would have made less this season on the franchise tag and would have given the Bears 100% flexibility. Instead, the Bears are talking about benching a QB that has 2 more guaranteed years left.
Also he did address the safety position, but not enough, as the unit is still bad. I was okay with his moves, but Mundy has been beyond unspectacular and Conte has not been good. In hindsight, which is how decisions are judged, he needed to replace Conte.
Okay something realistic, Brandon Marshall blows out his knee in the first quarter of today's game. Who steps up in three receiver sets today?
Windy doesn't seem to understand the basics of salary cap right now but thank god you are here to back him up joe
It's $22.5M not $32M and all they would owe would be $4M in cap from the restructured SB, if traded. If they can trade him. But even if they trade him they will pay Cutler 32 million for playing 1 season.
If they cannot trade him then they are stuck.
It is a nice contract if he is kept, or kind of if he is traded.
For the record I had no problem with the contract, because I thought Cutler would play better in the system. I did not think week 10 that we would be talking abou him being benched.
All you really have to know if you want to rate Emery is that the line on today's game against Tampa Bay is now down to 4. Which basically means we are about evenly matched with the Bears at home. Fucking sad what happened to this team.

Biff...Dont even thinks such thoughts..WTF is wrong with you!
the meatballs are out in full force in this thread....
That's a little unfair. One of Emery's best moves was to get BM/AJ, two Pro Bowl WRs, and now he's to be criticized if one of them goes down? How many other teams have two Pro Bowl WRs, then have the depth to replace them?
Emery didn't get Marshall the Dolphins were eager to get rid of him at ANY cost knew the Bears situation and reached out. Marshall was a gift there was bold move here the Bears received a gift.
Yes, those stupid Dolphins gave us Brandon Marshall and look at how they fell apart. Same thing happened to the Broncos when they gave us Jay Cutler. Remember how that trade was going to be ruination of the Denver Broncos, lol.
looks like Phil made a good move with Mariani. Made good decisions and got it past the 20.
Mariani is yet another example of Emery's incompetence as a GM. Forget the last 12 weeks of madness, Chris Williams gets injured again versus the Vikings and there is no backup on the roster so he had to go out and sign a guy in the middle of the week off the street.
No backup punt returner on the roster after Holmes gets cut so the Bears had to throw Williams out there to field punts something he hasn't done since 2012. Williams is injured so the Bears shift to Mariani who hasn't played since the 2011 season.
So Emery has this idea of being versatile with the players on his roster and yet where are the returners?
