Morel Back Injury Thread **Update 6/8 Morel Has Setback

Brent Morel's status is less clear. The third baseman pulled himself out of a minor league game on Thursday after re-aggravating his back injury and was in Chicago yesterday for further tests. Ventura is hopeful the Sox can finally get to the bottom of Morel's back issues with this latest round of examinations.

im not sure we even know what he is. but if he keeps having back issues his career is in jeopardy.

It would be smart to obtain a 3Bmn. Not saying youk but someone that can be avg at defense and at the plate.

Yeah. I'm not saying the Sox should take the chance with him. I think they should go after someone that they can trade in a couple years if Morel does get it figured out and the back injuries stop.

But once you have back problems at 3B, most teams won't even go near you because it's not worth the chance.

After visiting a back specialist last week in Southern California, Morel said he was placed on a program for four to five weeks. He said he could incorporate baseball work during the latter stages of the program if he makes progress.

Seriously now.

He does make sense.
First he was hurt which caused him to be missed.
Then he got picked up by teams that had players there already.
He's hitting around .300 in Triple A for the Dodgers.

Seriously he can;t be any worse than we already have, won't cost a lot in a trade and can pick it better than what we have now.
