Totally agree with Lost, GOT, and The Sopranos as being overrated. I just don't get how Game of Thrones is so popular. Its lame as shit. If I wanted to watch porn then I would.

To each their own but Sopranos fundamentally changed television for a reason. The show was tremendously influential to the modern television drama. The argument could be made that no show ever had more layers to it.

I guess, but I'm really not seeing it. Not drawing me in, and for one of the purportedly greatest shows of all time, it's been kind of a disappointment. It's gotten to the same point as the Walking Dead, more for background noise than anything. Like I said, there have been a few really good/great episodes, but I haven't been itching to watch the next episode and finish the series like I had with Breaking Bad or Spartacus.

For me the most overrated shows are The Wire and The Walking Dead. Not saying I dislike either just don't understand all the praise.

TWD is definitely overrated, it's been going down hill since Shane died. Have yet to watch the Wire. Sons of Anarchy is another show that I think is overrated. Don't get me wrong, I really like the show, but it can be really boring sometimes.

I wanna dislike you for talking shit about GoT....

LOL, GoT is awesome, but sometimes they kill me when they try to cram 17 story lines into one episode. Right now, only show I like more is Hannibal. I plan on watching The Wire, Oz, and the Shield, Rome, as well as trying to get into Boardwalk Empire again. Planning on checking out Fargo at some point too.

I've been watching Fargo and have been pleasantly surprised how much I am enjoying it. No solid connection to the Cohen Brothers movie, but written as well. Billy Bob Thorton seems to be enjoying playing a subdued maniac.

I feel like people stopped liking Dexter because he stopped killing as much. That was how the show was meant to be, showing the evolution of a psychopath that wasn't supposed to be anything more than a monster.

re: the wire being overrated, go shit in your hat.

re: the sopranos, it's kind of funny you're using the shows it made possible as the barometers by which to measure its quality.

Every serial TV show is a soap opera at base.

I never stopped liking it, I just didn't like it as much. After the way it built up and then ended through season 4, they just could never really top that writing and development.

I'm not trying to compare it to the shows I mentioned, it's just I expected more after everything I heard about it. IDK, I guess I waited too long to finally watch it to the point where I had expectations it could never match. I did the same with the first Hangover. Don't get me wrong, it's a good show, but one of the best ever? Not for me. I will say though, Gandolfini is awesome as Tony Soprano. I like Detective Falco as Chris too.

You don't even enjoy the humor? The pilot is one of the best written pieces of tv i've ever seen.

If all you see is nudity and violence in GoT then everything is flying right over your head. Its one of the few shows that has so many concurrent storylines all being developed at once. Its that character depth that keeps me coming back for more.

I think after you watch The Wire you may find it to be the best tv show of all time, but I may be overrating it.
