The animated film written and directed by Shane Acker. Yes, Burton was a co-producer.

It was alright. I wouldn't buy the DVD or even rent it. Worth watching if you have Netflix or cable.

I'd watch either one of the other two films again before 9.

Dr. Strangelove is a classic. Admittedly, Stanley Kubrick (RIP) was one of my favorite directors. Peter Sellars is out-standing, maybe his best work.

Cinderella Man was a good film as well, although maybe not exactly historicly correct.

Went to see Robin Hood today and I was actually surprised it wasn't the total disaster I expected. Not bad to pass a couple of hours and so much better than the Kevin Costner travesty for a few years ago. Only problem is what was the deal with his accent? Crowe got a bit upset with a BBC interviewer last week when he asked about his Irish accent in the movie so he cut the interview short and walked out. Idiot.

I can only assume that was sarcasm.

And you can only resume being homosexual?...

ok now that that's out of the way. Finished Sherlock Holmes. Was getting annoyed tword the end with the "black arts" BS looking to be a real storyline and them not explaining any of it, was really happy the way they wrapped it all up. Like the way it was shot Overall a good movie, but has room for improvement in the sequel. One thing that really annoyed me was RDJ accent. He sounded like he was mumbling through the whole movie and you had a hard time understanding what he was saying. NOt to mention it's not fun watching a whole movie with the wife asking what he just said.

Which one? The musical [Nine] or the Tim Burton produced feature? Either way, what did you think?[/quote]

{{{shivers}}} Man, was Daniel Day-Lewis ever miscast in that role. Way too much of a cool demeanor to pull that off IMO---would have been better with Javier Bardem who was originally cast. Eh, I suppose that's what I get though for breaking one of my Top 5 filmgoing commandments (which I normally cinematically live and die by!) and seeing a flick with Kate Hudson in it---besides having zero discernible talent she is also one of the all-time great bad script magnets. I basically deserved my punishment for that alone not to mention for seeing a Rob Marshall directed film in the first place when really I can't stand his milquetoast work.

And while I agree Ms. Hudson is a pretty awful actress, Almost Famous was a pretty good flick.

Saw Iron Man II again. Mostly because friends wanted to see it and I didn't want to be "that guy" who makes going to the movies with others a huge pain in the ass. Also, because I enjoyed it. Can't say I really caught anything extra the 2nd time around.

Recently caught "Shorts" on cable. I love Robert Rodriguez's movies (the Mariachi series in particular)... that is, until he basically just started making flicks just for his kids. With that said, "Shorts" wasn't a horrible movie and had enough grown-up jokes to make sitting through it not un-pleasant.

We watched one of my favorite movies again last night, Pillow Talk, with Doris Day and Rock Hudson. I have probably seen it 50 times, but I never get tired of it. I love to watch old movies. I can see why women in the old days were so attracted to him. He was such a charmer and sooooooooooo handsome. He really was a good actor to cover up the fact that he was ***. Even knowing he was *** I'd still do him. I always get a secret chuckle in the movie when he suggest to Doris Day that the guy she is dating might be one of those types of guys. He laughs when saying it and I like to think it is genuine; that he is thinking to himself "if all these people only knew."

Watched National Lampoon's "Lost Reality" this weekend. They tried to make it seem like it was a collection of clips from actual Reality shows that never aired, but many were obviously faked. Especially when comedians and porn stars I recognize showed up in them. If you have an hour to waste, and you can stream it through Netflix, you might consider it, but I wouldn't buy or rent this.

Comedian Ari Shaffir(sp?) has a pretty funny running bit through it called, "The Amazing Racist"

I haven't seen the movie, but am going to have to go ahead and disagree with you there. Travolta in the trailer is the exact reason I will never watch this movie.

Okay, now that the squeeing fangurl moment has passed, I'll only add that your statement is spot-on. Daniel Day-Lewis is capable of many tremendously astounding thespian feats to be sure. . .but playing Guido was NOT one of them and he should not have even "challenged" himself by taking it on. Uber-hardcore Method actor or no.

I saw the book of Eli. They may as well call this "Left Behind 27: un editted" and cast Kirk Cameron as the lead.

I'll just leave the review at that.

You watch that creepy Kirk Cameron stuff? I just want to pop the snot out of him. He is so annoying with his preachy ways and the horrible things he and that other assclown say to people. There is nothing wrong with being religious but they carry it way too far. He had some poor girl crying because she told a white lie as a child. What the hell is an actor but a pathological liar?

Couldn't disagree more. Thought for a movie with a slight "religious" undertone is was very well done.

Recently watched Adventureland. It was completely mis-represented in the trailers... while it was a little bit of a funny coming of age story, there was drama in it. All in all, it wasn't bad - just moved a little slow sometimes. Both Jesse Eisenberg and Marting Starr easily steal the show in any scene they're in together. Kristen "perma-scowl" Stewart delivers the same performance we've seen from her over and over again. And any scene with Bill Hader is comic gold.
