The second movie was focused more on the origin of the vampires and werewolves at the beginning. I agree it wasnt very coherent though, but I think the overall plot was to stop Markus from releasing his rage aholic brother from bondage, because he was like perma wolfed out and anyone he bit turned like instantly, and they literally would have spread across the world like a plague.

I dont know I dont look too much into things with movies like this, if theres good action and the story makes sense I can deal. Thats what I didnt like as much about the new one is that I think it was more I didnt expect what it was about, and in any sense it isnt any better or worse than the previous films. Like you I think Underworld :Rise of the Lycans was my favorite.

I also agree with what you said about separating the vampires as being a bunch of Dandy's other than the death dealers.

Yeah, but that was already evident from the theatrical version. The extended version was like.. "lets through in some boob shots because (A.) it's unrated, so we can, and (B.) much of our audience is teenagers who haven't seen a pair in real life anyway so this will give them a reason to buy another version of the DVD."

..don't get me wrong though, I liked Beckinsale's butt shots as much as the next nerd.

and one thing that just dawned on me....has there ever been a female werewolf in this entire series? After seeing the new one ive been rewatching the franchise and after 1 and 2 I didnt see a single female werewolf.

Good point, you just gave me a flashback from The Howling movie where the TV reporter turns into a "were-Lhaso apso" on air. Maybe they dodged the female werewolves because of nudity thing. Maybe hairy wolf breasts were deemed unappealing as opposed to hairless vampire breasts.

At the end of the day I don't care about any of that, I just want access to BHP's movie collection.

ROFL I forgot about that.

Yeah Im guessing the exclusion of female werewolves had more to do with the technical standpoint of making more than one type of werewolf creature. I am assuming the first movie didnt have a huge budget they kept the CGI to a minimum as most of the werewolf shots were suits.

The whole thing is they didnt have to show any changing, they just coulda threw some female werewolf extras in there. There were plenty of werewolves in it you never see change into one. Its just very unbelievable that there isnt one female werewolf. It made sense in rise of the lycans because the vampires were essentially making them, and the purpose was hard slave labor. But after all those years not one chick wolf?

I guess in the new movie theres a chick werewolf....on a technicality.

You had me at "In association with Horror Boobs"

Anyone else notice what I believe is a picture of a blackhawk in the background of a murder scene in that VHS trailer?

Im pretty sure its the hawks. If im making those words out right, the words on the ice say "COLD STEEL ON ICE" if im not mistaken that was like the hawks mission statement in the early to mid 90's.

I have an old hawks hat that says cold steel on ice on it. The © on the tag is 1993. I was like 12.

Seen "Into the Abyss". It was alright. It just seems like I'd seen that story before, nothing really astounded me about it.

I watched a movie on Netflix awhile back and don't remember if i said anything about it but it's called Behind The Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon and it's about a serial killer named Leslie Vernon and he hired a documentary crew to follow him around. He shows them little "tricks" and shares his point of view. It's also set as though Freddie and Jason and all them are real. I thought it was a pretty funny and i would recommend it if you like the horror genre

annd i know it was mentioned a few pages back but i also loved Tucker and Dale vs Evil, thought it was really funny and i love tyler labine and alan tudyk

Finally saw the Kings Speech. There must be something in the bloodlines of the King Georges. Enough to make 2 separate movies on 2 of them with medical issues. Anyways, I enjoyed it quite a bit. The acting was great, the sets and lighting were beautifully done, IMO. 7/10.

Well, I have my first 0/10 in a long, long time.

Crank 2.

Absolute hot garbage from the first frame to the end of the credit roll.

Name your boy Leslie, that will be a good first step in life toward him becoming a serial killer.

"Man Bites Dog" was kind of like that, it's a documentary about a documentary crew making a documentary about a serial killer.

Parts of it get really uncomfortable which is part of the fun. Wait until you reach the dinner party after the killer breaks his arm.

The Criterion DVD includes a short these guys made as film students "No C4 for Daniel-Daniel", kind of a super spy adventure. It drags at 12 minutes but 4 minutes in there's a funny scene as the lead character disguised as a weathered copper statue..
