Star Wars is the worst. Always has been, always will be! As a child who grew up in the 80s I can say this with confidence.

Yes, they will do it justice, by making more crappy movies! Equally terrible!

Lucas will be a creative consultant...but that 4 billion made this the best exit for him and what he did with Lucas films.

Will be interesting to see if EP7 will be based on the Zahn series or something else. Since the CEO said they are looking to release a SW movie every couple of years i think it will be something different. Even more interesting that they are considering a TV series.

This also gives Disney the Indiana Jones franchise.

Theres alot they could do for an episodes 7-9. There have been alot of cool characters in the books and video games "post" episode 6(I am assuming an episodes 7-9 would take place after). I would guess maybe they would do one on Han and Leia's kids or Luke and Mara Jades kid(s) (not aware if they had any in the books, I know Han and Leia do). I am assuming that would be the case as I think people would Nerd Rage over those actors roles being reprized by anyone else and I dont think they would want to make an action adventure, surrounding a bunch of geriatric former space heroes (but I am sure cameos or minor/non action-mentor roles to the main characters)

I disagree, IT has run it's course as is, but it absolutely deserves to finally have the followup that the first three films deserve I'm not sure this will be it. But it deserves to have something that gives proper due to the culture changing greatness that the first three were before they started redoing them and making horrible sequels. The closest thing that came to reliving some star wars greatness is actually a video game.

KOTOR? (the single player, not that online rpg debacle)

Star Wars, more like Poop Wars!

P.S. I will troll this thread until the end of time. Or until this Lucas bull gets its own thread.

She hasn't even seen one of the original 3 films so she gets no opinion. Don't listen to her nonsense. The original trilogy is film brilliance she just isn't brave enough to allow it in.

WHAT?!?!?!? Look, I don't have any problem with someone NOT wanting to see them - different strokes and all that - but to save that much vitriol for something she has never seen?

For shame, Muley... for shame.

Pile on the shame on Mule... Quick TCD give us her favorite authors to make fun of....

You can't really have an educated opinion of Star Wars if you weren't educated with the first three. They are what people talk about when they talk about star wars. Everyone acknowledges how downhill it went.

Mule, for shame. Even if you did watch the original 3 now you likely wouldn't like them because you already have a negative perception of the whole thing.

Yeah. . .ummm. . .you are so not getting laid again before 2013.

You see how easily they turn on you like a pack of rabid hyenas Mule? There's no loyalty at IHN except to The Force, errr Wang. Perish the thought that a woman should have a strong---perhaps singular---opinion and stance on something.

First off, TCD is a liar. What child wasn't forced to sit through those original three movies at some idiot birthday party? I was certainly one of those children. Ugh. I just never enjoyed the series. It wasn't my thing, and as I grew older my dislike only increased. I'm just not into it. And I mos def have not seen all the prequels.

Not everyone likes Star Wars. It's corny, I don't think it's fun, the characters aren't interesting. Even as a child I wanted to spear an Ewok!

And if you make fun of things I like it will only make me life them more!

I do enjoy Spaceballs though. That's a movie I can watch again and again.

Also, Yoda sounds just as stupid as Jar Jar Binks! He's not some philosopher! It's pure garbage. And also a bit racist.

Ummm. . .the same way I can have a strong---in some cases almost virulent---opinions about any number of books, TV shows, films, etc. not being my cup of tea or even worth my time. You reading any Harlequin romance novels these days or are you of the pretty strong opinion that romance genre bodice rippers are entertainment garbage and not worth your time?

Apparently you didn't get that it was a sarcastic rhetorical question. Hence why the little comment about Twilight being excluded was there at the end.

No. I didn't get that at all from that post even with the Twilight caveat.Sarcastic rhetoric? RME. Also, I am going to have to say that I am of the strong opinion that even though I have never met you, you are an asshole.
