The Tennessee Titans are breaking up with Mike Mularkey.

The team and coach parted ways on Monday after failing to come to an agreement about their future together, the Titans announced on their website...

----------

Dang!

EDIT: here's a 3 line summary for those who don't want to read.
1- TN thought about extending him
2- said screw his exotic smash mouth bs. it sucked ass
3- Rapoport says McD likes the TN job over all other or something

I don't blame the Titans for moving on. He's an offensive minded coach and their young QB took a major shit in his development under his watch. Can't happen.

Soon there's not going to be enough offensive minded coaches to fill all the HC spots....

First playoff win in 2 decades then gets fired. Nobody’s job is safe anymore.

McDaniels will be taking the job.

Maybe NFL forcing the ownership to sell the team since there isn't a 30% majority stake owner on Titans. Maybe giving the new owner the right to choose his/her own HC.

Supposedly, he was asked to fire his OC and he refused. So he got fired too. I think McDaniels will take that job. I wonder what the Colts will do now with their HC seasrch

I didn’t think he would get fired, but he definitely should have been or at least got a new OC. I’m guessing maybe he balked at changing his philosophies and OC so they parted ways. Colts are about to have another coach ripped out from under them in McD

If that was the case, Mularkey is dumb. Henry should've played more than demarco Murray. The OL and QB should've been a lot better than their play. At one point the Titans were 8-4 this season. There is no excuse for the team to barely make the playoffs.

We fired Lovie after a 10-6 season ourselves.

Sometimes there is much more going on below the surface..
