I did some head math and came up with 370k.

Then I realize I forgot to consider tax implications of taking a lump sum over monthly structured payouts.

Then I realized I am not a tax accountant, so I really have no business answering.

I would say somewhere around 400k or so, but that's an informed guess.

Assume 3.25-4% returns after addressing inflation....or thereabouts.

well i also suggested him living on the property if hes struggling as is... perhaps settle some debt......but if hes doing fine.. blow it... buy a corvette on the way to vegas.. burn out the clutch on the strip.. put 20k on black..... fly emirates first class a380 ta bangkok and juss bang for pennies on the dollar.... it shouldnt matter.. its juss gravy mane... the only retirement package anyone should be saving and building towards for 80+ yr old... is steel of their choice and bullets... ta end the madness.. naw eye mean..

my perspective is different i suppose.. i have zero debt...zero mortgage.. zero car note.........afta those things are taken out of the equation, its all gravy minus the daily/yearly expenses.. and i still eat ramen noodles (aussie brands) pb and j, bologna sammiches etc etc from time to time.. i still carry lots of my cheapness/poorness with me... always will...
