My five:

1) Right tackle is a mess. Hopefully they can bring in someone. Hopefully a veteran. I liked the White pick, but am wishing we drafted OL. Anyone is an improvement at this point.
2) I thought safety would be a weakness, but our safety play is great compared to cornerback. Wouldn't be surprised to see Mitchell steal fuller's spot. If he returns to 1st half of last year form, we will be in decent shape.
3) Back end competition for RB and WR will be interesting. Perry and Carey are both having great games. Perry should edge out due to ST. I think Langford and Carey provide the same value, but Langford's upside is better and he is a regime guy.
4) jay is making great decisions. But it's preseason. good thing we play Green Bay week 1 so he can't build up any false hope for anyone. I will never question the guys heart, I blame his arm. His arm is too good for his head, and his decision making is his biggest weakness.
5) OLB is our biggest defensive strength. Willie looked pretty good for someone not playing the position before. Someone good will be cut from this position.

Langford is bigger and faster than Carey. He's a better receiver and plays special teams. He's considerably more valuable than Carey. Frankly, I think since the Bears are rebuilding, they should look to move Forte to the Cowboys for a 2nd. I'm a huge Forte fan but this would be the ideal time to move him to a contender and keep the younger backs.

"3. Welson got a hammy because Cutler doesn't care about hitting his man in stride. Hopefully he's okay and Cutler will learn from this. If so, both will have breakout seasons."

He threw that pass scrambling out of the pocket probably 40 yards down field. Have we really gotten to the point that we blame Jay for guys pulling muscles, lol. I also blame Jay for Brock Vereen not covering anyone.

Well we haven't stopped yet, even if not serious.

Honestly this team looks just like I expected a solid offense a very good and much improved front seven and a suspect secondary

2. Ka'deem Carey will be a solid backup, on some team with a meh starter.
3. Welson got a hammy because Cutler doesn't care about hitting his man in stride. Hopefully he's okay and Cutler will learn from this. If so, both will have breakout seasons.
4. Pass rush is back, and we've only seen the beginning of what Fangio can do with his personnel.
5. Sam Acho has the highest football IQ on our D.

The game was on TV.

Mariani is a really good punt/kick returner and the job should already be his.
K.Carey is one of my favorite guys and i don't think he's been given enough of a chance to show what he can do and it will be a mistake cutting him.
Welson----it's always the fault of Cutler.....GEESH.
It does seem like we'll have a good D-Line and it will be pretty deep.
I have no idea if Acho has the highest football IQ on our entire D but i do like what he's shown so far.

I agree, people around here are down on Carey but its simply because he hasn't been getting many touches. Fox has used him like a 4th back all pre-season.

If he had more opportunities people would be saying he's good

Ma boi McPhee looked fantastic last night. His pass rush will be key for this team and his play against the run was equally impressive. Those "violent" hands were in mid-season form allowing him to shed blocks and split double teams.

Jenkins is super underrated and will be a very nice starter for us at the 5-tech. He could be Pace's version of Slauson in terms of a FA find who was thought to be a decent starter and ends up as one of our core guys in the trenches.

Acho keeps looking good but I would like to see how he performs with the starters across from McPhee. If he shows up with the first unit his versatility would be great for this unit and would allow Allen to move to a more situational rush role.

Despite the pressure generated by McPhee and the rest of the front the secondary has not performed well. Not ready to write off Fuller but he needs to show more in the coming weeks to restore some confidence in himself and those around him.

Cutler looked sharp. Best play of the night may have been one that was called back where Cutler avoided pressure in the pocket scrambled to the right and threw across the entire field a good 40-50 yards downfield for what should have been a completion.

The only times that Cutler should ever throw the ball greater than 40 yards is if it is 3rd and very long and we are around midfield. Then it will be like a punt. If last year is any indication, Cutler has lost accuracy, and the longer he throws it, the least accurate it is.

I used to think this, "like a punt" but it isn't anymore, not with the punter we got.

I agree I think acho may be in the starting role soon. our d line has good depth and fangio is making it work.how ever our secondary is a concern and may be the week link on the defense. I like everything I seen on offense except RT we need to get that straight or teams will expose it fast
