It is inconsistent. There is no doubt about it, but that doesn't change the fact that in the most important team stat for offense the Cubs have been right at average for basically the entire season. I didn't say it was good, but this idea that the offense is terrible (unless slightly below average means the same thing as terrible) is silly.
