Yeah I know right? Nasty pick and rolls and your teammates always wanna switch. I've had to spend a lot of points upping my strength and post defense because I get posted up so much. The one advantage of making my player so tall though is that I don't necessarily need a high vertical or block rating to get blocks. I'm actually leading the team in blocks...but we don't have Noah or Gibson so that doesn't mean anything because Asik barely plays even though he's our only C. Freaking stupid trades...I think they're gonna trade Rose too because I'm a PG. :smh: At least if they trade Harris with him we'll get a good big man if the AI is smart (but I'm not banking on that).

I have like 1 block in 10 games, but I'm short. I'm on the Suns, but I think I'm going to request a trade to get more playing time. I usually score about 10 or 11 points, but only play 8 minutes.

i have a couple of things(for clone and uman)

what difficulty do y'all play on? i only play on pro

and ya it pisses me off about the assists...its hard to get more than 5 or 6...either i try too hard and get TOs..or like half of my assists are erased because my guys get stuffed at the rim or simply cant finish the play...its maddening

couple of go-to move suggestions at least for me(im a 6'5 PG):

try posting up your matchups..make a couple of up and under moves(us R2 and right analog stick) and you get an easy score....high percentage...or you may get a foul

go for a fastbreak and take the open shot...or set a pick for an open shot..or drive and shoot a baseline jumper...if you have decent shooting ratings that baseline jumper is money

a suggestion for getting more time is making the quarter lengths longer..instead of 5(which is default..idk what y'all are using though) try 7 or 8...its a little longer but the results are better

I'm not quite sure how it works, but my minutes got boosted pretty much every game after game 4 or 5. I was a starter by game 14 or 15 I think. Maybe I was just playing a heck of a lot better than Harris or something. How are your assist numbers and how well does the team do while you're on the floor? I'm not sure if it matters in determining minutes or not, but if the team is always getting beat with you on the floor, it might have to do with your low minutes. It might also be that you have Nash and Brooks ahead of you on the depth chart. Whichever it is, Phoenix isn't really the best place to be for a PG unless you can outplay Brooks so a trade would probably do you good.

I've been playing on pro as well, but I'm gonna start upping that now that I have a hang of the game. Assists actually aren't a problem for me. I've been getting at least 5+ per game for awhile now. I play 12 minute quarters though and now I'm getting 40+ minutes a game so that has a lot to do with it. Although I spend half my minutes playing SG and don't have many opportunities for assists when that happens since I can't call plays or anything. I post up my matchups all the time and use the up and under move (tap right stick to pump fake, then hold to complete the move) to score. It's money most of the time even though my inside ratings (shot inside, shot close, post offense or whatever, and all my post abilities are poor) suck. I've been able to draw 3-4 fouls a game recently by doing that. I posted Hedo once a couple games ago...that was hilarious. Hedo sucks.

I relate to you on the whole turnover thing though. I'm averaging over 3 TOs per game because of the AI randomly coming back into the picture to deflect my pass, or having super awareness and deflecting passes even though they're running in the wrong direction or facing the other way. I'm always robbed of at least 4-5 assists a game because Rip or Boozer or whoever else gets stuffed at the rim. It kind of goes along with the whole unrealistic block totals thing I mentioned before.

One thing I do to get assists is to call the "_____ cut to basket" quick play. I believe it's right on the dpad then triangle on PS3 or Y? on the 360. If your teammate has an open path to the basket, you should usually be able to get an assist unless the computer cheeses you by doing one of the things I mentioned before.

That fastbreak thing is another good way to score points. As soon as you see a shot go up that looks like a miss, take off down the court and call for pass. Usually you should be able to get a layup off of that. Another thing that I do because I'm a 3pt specialist is if someone else starts bringing the ball up/leads the break or I'm unable to beat someone to the basket, I head straight for the corner and spot up. Most of the time that will be a wide open 3 for me. Unfortunately there are times where I get A+ shot and perfect release and still miss horribly. :dunno:

I play 6 minute quarters on All-Star difficulty. I made my player a 3-point specialist, but if they're not falling I'll drive to the inside and try to draw a foul. I run a lot of pick and rolls and screens, but the only way I seem to get an assist is if I pass to Hill or Carter for a 3.

I'll probably play in a little while and request a trade to a team who needs a PG so I can hopefully become a starter.

Pick and rolls in 2k suck. You're not going to get many assists or scores off of that usually. Very rarely have I found that you can blow by defenders, even if they're slow as heck. Speed is pretty broken in the game imo. Try the cut to the basket thing next time and see if that gets you a few more dimes.

same i simulated a bunch of games to go faster though i'm like 60 games into my rookie year

Idk, but I'm insisting on playing all 82 my rookie year. Going to be key gaming it from then on out I think unless I really want to play a team. I only have the patience for one full season. :elephant:

I can draw a lot of fouls that way. Occasionally a forward will guard me. That's the only time I'll use a screen. Usually works, but if it doesn't, I kick it out to my SG/SF for a 3.

Really? Interesting. How do you go about drawing those fouls? It's never seemed to work for me, so I tend not to use it, but if you know a way to make it useful...xD

Once I drive in the lane, right before I shoot, I push the left stick towards the basket to lean in to draw contact with the defender. They'll usually call it. Other times I'll just dribble in to traffic and put up a shot and hope for a whistle. Haha

Pick and roll with Asik is the most useless play for me right now lol. He doesn't roll and we know he can't shoot for crap so that moving the side in an attempt to "pop" is a fail as well. At least with Boozer sometimes I can manage to get his defender to help on me so he can get the midrange shot. But then there are those times where you give the ball to someone wide open and they don't shoot. Infuriating...

lol they've been so terrible for me that I don't even use them for that. Might be worth a shot for when they stupidly give me the ball with 4 seconds left on the shot clock.

Speaking of shot clocks...does anyone else use the auto run plays option? I've noticed that all the plays suck for the most part. They don't create good shots and it takes way to long to execute the plays as well. I can't even try to set screens in the paint for someone because I keep running into my defender and getting a push animation. Such a waste of time, but because I play so much SG, I feel I have to leave it on or DRose will just ball hog all the time.

You could always just say screw it with skin tone and make your player black. :smug2:

But yeah the my player creation system isn't the best, but I don't expect it to be like Skyrim or something.
