I doubt they ever will. The kids growing up that are in their 20s now grew up growing playoff beards as a fan from the moment they grew facial hair.
Now they are at the highest level and getting paid millions to do it. It's just a fun, harmless tradition... the NBC guy has a point to a degree... but it's not going to change anything.
