1. While I agree, let me put it this way. Sandberg likes to bunt and play small ball almost as much as Mike Martz likes to pass the ball.What makes it too much?
Sorry but youre contradicting yourself here. Emphasizing fundamentals like bunting and execution is actually good for a young team. Since when do established players buy into bunting. Some do but its not a certainty and bringing in a manager after theyre more established is backwards.
So then dont string him along. Why let him manage in the minors if youre not going to give him the keys to that car?
2. Because Quade has experience managing and coaching in the majors and has even more experience in the minors than Sandberg has. Managing in the majors is a lot different than managing in the minors. Also, at least Quade has a little experience evaluating talent in the majors, and making the correct personnel moves is crucial, especially for a rebuilding team.
