but
but
you guys think everyone is annoying..
no no no, i doubt quade will fall asleep in the dugout.
If I managed a team (Cubs especially because of all the days games), I almost guarantee I would have a hangover so bad at least once I would fall asleep.
Ok guys,
I know that hiring a manager for a rebuilding team is a hot topic issue rolleyes
but the name calling and attacks need to stop...this is the second straight thread that this has happened....Lex, calm down dude....
NO MORE!
Then dont post in it?
I have absolutely no idea whatsoever.
Thats nothing new. When that question is asked, never assume theyre talking to you.
The stupidity in this thread is personally offensive to me.
Just look at it. From the very top, the thread title asks for intelligent discussion. Right out of the gate, theyre talking about eye brows. You have some lonely sox fans in here picking fights with pro-sandberg people. You have people who were specifically identified for only liking Quade because they want to be different from the "stupid" cubs fans, not being able to provide a reason for why Quade should be the manager, without saying, "he's not Sandberg". And this was supposed to be intelligent discussion? What a joke.
nice Skille
why is it stupidity? because they dont agree with you?
this is why the last thread got closed...your attacking them for no reason...
no need to insult people
it has been stated quite a few times, from me see my business approach post. but i will explain again because for some reason you skip the posts.
1) quade has more experience than ryno
2) quade comes cheap (see business side of it )
3) quade has worked with alot of young players for a long time
just because he is a hall of fame player, does not mean he will be a hall of fame manager. he needs a little bit more seasoning and it would be best served in a small market.
Sandberg DOES attempt to bunt in a game too much. I have been to several Iowa Cubs games and he loves to play mostly old-school small ball too much. I can understand playing small ball for a small stretch, but when you rely too much on trying to move a runner w/ a bunt, or having the base runner run on contact, you are going to run into more outs which will cause you to score a substantial amount of less runs. Also, just because he has a relationship w/ the players doesn't mean he can evaluate talent, develop players, handle a pitching staff and a bullpen, and consistently put out a good lineup. No because its a bunch of nothing comments. You ask why is Quade qualified to be manager and someone comes back with, "because he's not Sandberg" types of answers. Thats not answering the question. And that question has still not been answered. The only follow up to this has been some sox fan running interference.
You have people talking about eyebrows immediately after insisting on intelligent posts.
You have people who dont know the pros and cons of bunting.
You have people making stupid blanket statements about bunting.
You have people saying overbunting is bunting too much...which is like saying overcooking is cooking something too much. Yeah, no kidding.

The Cubs are likely going to go into a rebuilding phase, and why have Sandberg manage a losing team and tarnish his reputation as a manager? IMO it'd be better to have Sandberg when the team is more established and has more talent and can field a winning team.
Trammell was a fan favorite in Detroit, but even he was booed by the fans when the Tigers consistently lost, and Sandberg could go through the same thing
