He has a point though. There's a huge body of evidence that says that Samardzija was pretty much fail as a starter and a reliever. The fact that he doesn't absolutely suck this season is nothing short of a miracle. He needs to adjust a bit now. I think this is nearing a career high in innings as a starter but I'm not completely sure, guess I'll look that up. Might be a matter of fatigue especially if he keeps uncorking those 96 mph fastballs.

Fatigue is a huge issue, and one that I've been pretty consistent in suggesting that would have to be careful monitored.

That fact remaisn that this type of posting from Capt. Serious is typical

So ignore him. He's a minor troll who doesn't do it very well.

Too many walks. Too little command of the FB at times. Hit way too hard after the first time through the lineup. There's a reason why he pretty much sucked as a SP in the minors... but has had success as a RP.

I still have to wonder how much his offseason training comes into play here... since he relieved all year last year, and was preparing to relieve this year. He wasn't stretched out very well in ST.

It gets old...

That's what "ignore" and your own personal maturity is for ;)

Hey look, a straight fastball to an elite hitter! Let's see what happens.

Right as always Rice, but it wears thin at this point in the year. Very little has gone right and being reminded constantly of that fact gets tiring.

Shark needs to be skipped and they need to work on some things. I don't know what is up, but it seems like he hasn't had that devasting split finger that he did earlier in the year.

I wouldn't mind the Cubs skipping his spot in the rotation when it is possible or just shut him down for the season at some point.

I don't think you can be a Cubs fan without a thick skin and a dark sense of humor :D

So today we learned that Jeff has a fastball that doesn't move around much, a cutter that doesn't cut, and a general fear of the strike zone. Plenty of stuff to work on between now and the next start.

I don't even think he tried to throw a splitter today, and if he did, Gameday didn't pick it up because it was such a shit pitch.
