Hey, it's all about building relationships.according to George, the more you lose the the more positives to be seen, so yea you got it.

I would not be surprised to see Nagy's role on offense further reduced by force and Lazor running the show.
a younger mind with new ideas could further ignite the defense.
Those guys are going to take a big step forward next season.
He can't pick coaches or QB's, but does pretty well at the rest.
this is a DEEP QB draft, with 6 potential NFL starters available.
A minor trade up is ok. Like a third to go 11-14 range. Anymore will be detrimental. Also no Trask please. I want Jones. You are going to be very disappointed.
LOL, outside of a few players the defense doesn't need some X's and O's genius to come in - never mind how OLD the new guy is (younger?? wtf?). They need a kick in their collective ass to stop loafing and play like fucking football players. Even if Pagano had a shitty scheme and they knew it, they loafed and were ALLOWED to loaf by the head coach. Nagy's faults go WAY beyond simply shitty playcalling.
IF Nagy remembers to play Kmet, IF Johnson stays healthy, IF Mooney stays healthy. But we had good play from these guys when they were out there. That didn't exactly help a whole lot with winning games and not looking like absolute fools everywhere else.
You forgot LT, RT, G depth, NT, depth and FB but freely admit he can't pick a COACH or QB? Oh ok, then that's ok then. LOL
And in this QB-starved league where QBs are set up to put up bigger and bigger numbers every year, all 6 will be gone by 20th pick.
Embrace the insanity.
This isn’t going to be a tank season. They are going all in. Fuck the future. The more I think about it, keeping Nagy’s dumb ass around to lead a tank season isn’t the worst thing in the world.
Just sucks knowing that George will have zero idea how to replace him & Pace next year and inevitably fuck that up too.
Ughhhh
Contrary to what Pace/Nagy believe, by going 'all in' they will be tanking because of how inept they are at their jobs. This isn’t going to be a tank season. They are going all in. Fuck the future.
These brainiacs going “all in” is the same thing as a tank. This isn’t going to be a tank season. They are going all in. Fuck the future.
Gordon Bombay did it, so that means Nagy can too!It would take a miracle for Nagy to turn into a good coach. A fucking miracle.
One thing Pace said in his presser was that everything he does is for the future of the franchise and not done in short term thinking. I hope that holds true. I think the biggest positive about the upcoming season would be if Pace/Nagy don't become desperate and start doing crazy shit - meaning mortgaging future draft picks to trade up, or for an aging vet or handing out big contracts in FA.
If Pace stays put and drafts the best available QB in the first at 20, I can live with that. It may not be the best QB in the draft, but the Bears have to take some shots at the position too. What I don't want is him trading future first rounders to move up 5 spots for 'his guy' and then the Bears having to commit the next 5 years to that QB because of what they gave up to get him.
Hate to piss in your pepsi but this is going to be a bad team next season. I think we win 6 games next season possibly less depending on just how badly we implode. It hard to get excited about Matt Nagy coaching our Bears next season, so I will try to drum up some positives on a shitty day:
1). Nagy's hands off the offense. As stupid as the Bears front office is, they don't have complete blind allegiance to coaches, firing Lovie after 10 wins and Trestman after 2 years. The fact that playcalling was taken away from Nagy during the year suggests front office intervention, so I would not be surprised to see Nagy's role on offense further reduced by force and Lazor running the show.
2). A fresh mind on defense. While health plus Eddie Goldman will be the #1 difference in a better defense next year, a younger mind with new ideas could further ignite the defense. Any team with a defense close to the 2018 team has a chance to do some damage. There are plenty of pieces to work with on this defense.
3). Expansion of a great rookie class. Mooney is a star in the making, Johnson played very well and Kmet looks like a solid contributor. Those guys are going to take a big step forward next season.
4). A full draft class in 2021. Yes the Pace hate is in full force, but we haven't had a full draft since 2018 due to the Mack trade, and that draft netted us Roquan Smith, James Daniels, Bilal Nichols and Anthony Miller. Pace did pretty well last year as well. He can't pick coaches or QB's, but does pretty well at the rest.
5). A chance to improve the OT and QB position. There is a ton of talent at OT in this draft and not putting Charles Leno back on the field makes the Bears a better offense instantly. No promises here, but Mac Jones and Kyle Trask are going to be out there, and the Bears may have their choice of the 2 best pure passers in the draft when their selection comes around. No need to discuss a topic that has been beat to death on this board, but this is a DEEP QB draft, with 6 potential NFL starters available. Maybe, just maybe, some other team takes THEIR trubisky, and we end up with the spoils. It could happen guys.
Pace: Here, somebody hold my Beer!4). A full draft class in 2021. Yes the Pace hate is in full force, but we haven't had a full draft since 2018 ....

Mitch already failed. Move on.You missed the easiest positive for next year....we have a Kicker.... easiest hole to fix....sign him tomorrow and then get working on increasing cap space to keep ARob and possibly sign Mitch to a two year contract with second year as an option .... then get the OT/QB/WR in draft .... this draft is loaded at all those positions.... if Mitch fails at least we will have weapons and an OL for the next QB..... get Cohen, Mooney and Daniels back on O .... get Roquan, Goldman back on D.....draft a SS in the 4th or 5th round ...
LolI am the OP, and trust me its hard to get excited about anything from Nagy's offense or have any confidence in him at all.
But I don't think the Bears front office met for 2 days over nothing. They watched the games. They saw shit offense. They asked who called plays.
Last season they fired offensive staff. I think the change they make this year is reducing Nagy's role by force and allowing Lazor to run the offense.
If Lazor gets an early start on installing his offense and some of his playbook, as well as practicing the plays that he wants, this offense will definitely get better.
