I’d just like to know why they prioritized right tackle when just last year they found a left tackle in the 5th. Why didn’t they feel they could find a right tackle later on?

Or they just took BPA on their board and ir happened to be Wright.

That rookie got his ass kicked the first half of the year, probably because of the major adjustment he had to make, and as a result Fields got his ass kicked.

Can't play around this year with Fields and we're bringing in the most game ready tackle now.

Bears couldn’t afford to draft a LT at 10 to watch him hopefully “grow”. Isn’t that exactly what Braxton Jones is doing? Wright is NFL ready. How do you know he can’t be a top tackle in the draft?
Who is the top LT in the NFL?

Why San Francisco 49ers tackle Trent Williams and his blocks went viral

Watch the video. What does Trent Williams have that Wright does not? He is huge (Wright is huge) who can fire out like a bullet (Wright can't while Jones can).

I am ok with the trade and with the pick.

However; what happens if Braxton is injured?

Wright sucked when he player LT in 2021.

Know who didn't suck when you played left tackle?

Tevin Jenkins his first year in the NFL.

Start Jenkins at left guard and if Jones gets hurt you kick him outside.

The odds of getting pass rushers past the first round are slim and none. You can find right tackles though. Not saying it isn’t impossible but they messed up and will get owned by the eagles for years anyways.
I think its actually the other way around tbh. I hate this draft strategy but they did do right in prioritizing the correct position.

Honestly he got his ass beat all year.

It's just halfway through the year they offered more and more help on that side because he needed it.

So you’re saying we don’t have a LT? Makes this pick even worse lol.

I'd also point out that they get more than 1 pick.
For a team that has a ton of needs, do you think that it is wise to use 2 draft picks to fill the RT position and a backup LT?

I am not against that if Poles and Cunningham can find the 2023 version of Braxton Jones, but that is putting too much pressure on them to get it right two years in a row.

I am just hoping that Braxton is fine in 2023.

OT Anton Harrison from Oklahoma went to the Jags. Oklahoma lineman have been doing very well in NFL. Good pick.

And @JoJoBoxer wanted to draft a LT who needs to “grow”. That isn’t going to help protect Fields blindside.
