But when those scouting reports say:
  1. terrible at LT- meaning that the Bears still have to rely on Borom as the back for LT in case Braxton is injured.
  2. Bad at run blocking, which is a shock due to his size.
  3. Lazy
Doesn't that give you pause?

I guess we can hope that Braxton goes another year without missing a single game.
Lazy?? Lol

The guy played in the highest tempo offense in the country. It’s impossible to be out of shape and lazy and start on the offensive line in Heupels system

Stop reading “draft reports” from people that don’t know what they are talking about

Please, read the weaknesses. It is not me. It is what was on the link.

I don't hate the pick, but I am worried about what happens if Braxton is injured. Wright is not a good fill in for LT.
@knoxville7 , can you please give us your scouting report of Wright as a LT in 2021?

You should be a better source than scouting reports.

Every team hurts when starters go down.

Great! The Bears used a RT at 10 who cannot play LT, nor can he run block.

While he was often a positional blocker at Tennessee, he’s a very talented drive blocker when allowed to fire out. There will be inconsistent outings, but Wright should develop into a decent starting tackle with the potential to kick inside if necessary.

Every player drafted has weaknesses. Most teams don’t have a viable backup LT. You don’t draft players based on what if scenarios.
Broderick Jones would not have been drafted based on what if. He would have been drafted to grow and eventually end up as one of the top tackles in the NFL.

That is much different.

If they end up with a viable LT if Braxton is injured, that is the cherry on top.

I’d just like to know why they prioritized right tackle when just last year they found a left tackle in the 5th. Why didn’t they feel they could find a right tackle later on?

Does "should develop into a decent starting tackle" give you goose bumps, especially at 10?

so i'm sure you know that scouting reports vary from whoever wrote them...bottom line is the bears scouts are watching every snap, watching practice tape etc...if they trust what they see and couple that with morgan/poles/flus signing off that this kid can do whatever the bears are looking for him to do, i'm gonna trust that over some random scouting report. As i said there are plenty of nfl players some that HOF's that had shitty scouting reports and went on to just destroy their original scouting report...

Bears couldn’t afford to draft a LT at 10 to watch him hopefully “grow”. Isn’t that exactly what Braxton Jones is doing? Wright is NFL ready. How do you know he can’t be a top tackle in the draft?
