How so?

Both the first picks were clearly ben johnson players.

If we wanted big johnson we should accept the players he wants for his offense.

Clearly cold cement is not the tight end he wants.

They also got the OT they wanted in the 2nd round, and the BPA DE/DT

Maybe Poles can just let his HC make all the picks and never be held responsible. He can be our GM for the next 40 years.

If it goes bad Poles is gone. I don’t care who is making the pick. Just because he lets BJ choose the player doesn’t absolve him. He’s choosing to let BJ determine his fate.

Poles and BJ are linked at the hip. ITs very likely poles was extended to match ben johnson.

If these picks fail the team sucks and both guys are gone.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Notre Dame Fighting Irish
I feel a lot better about our OT depth.

I'm not expecting him to start, I expect Jones to start. But with the injury woes and lack of talent on the line last year, I'm very glad they put a premium pick into a backup OT who can fill in on either side. Like it or not, OL depth is a need for this team after Williams threatened to be the most sacked QB in a single season.

Because of trades, Poles spent a sixth rounder and next year's fourth rounder on starting guards, spent a second on a backup OT, and signed a really good center in FA. That's a great investment in the line for one season.
At worst, we needed a swing. Good pick. I expect him and Kiran to fight for the start of next year. Maybe Jones takes it back later.

Raise your hand if you had Isaac TeSlaa going before Shedeur Sanders.

The lions love overdrafting players.

Maybe it will work out for them but i never heard of the guy and it sounds like he barely produced in college

Excellent athlete for a white boi

Blows my mind no one thought WR was a need. We are absolute cheeks outside of DJ and Rome. Lol. The threat now with Burden and Loveland is absolutely a matchup nightmare, add in Swift/draft pick, wow.

Looks like some of his negatives can be attributed to poor coaching. Dennis Allen will get this guy on point — with his tools/potential beast!
I don't know anything about Texas A&M's DC, but there have been a few guys discussed here that did better before transferring to A&M or better after transferring out, or just didn't get utilized properly. Did they hire Mel Tucker when we weren't looking?

Apparently Isaac TeSlaa is a major workout warrior guy. 9.96 RAS. He was a 0-star recruit out of high school.

I wouldnt say it was a pressing need.

The bears probably did not expect burden to fall to the 2nd. Ben Johnson and Randle El were hyped as **** in the war room

Curious to see how these picks go, "positional value" says going something like Mykel Williams at 10 and then Harold Fanning Jr. at 62 is a better way to do what the Bears did with those picks but lets see if Poles found gems despite flipping conventional wisdom on draft.
