Easier said... but viable pick.Jeremiah said it. Day one starter…
Rob Havenstein was the comp he used.
How so?
Both the first picks were clearly ben johnson players.
If we wanted big johnson we should accept the players he wants for his offense.
Clearly cold cement is not the tight end he wants.
They also got the OT they wanted in the 2nd round, and the BPA DE/DT
Maybe Poles can just let his HC make all the picks and never be held responsible. He can be our GM for the next 40 years.
If it goes bad Poles is gone. I don’t care who is making the pick. Just because he lets BJ choose the player doesn’t absolve him. He’s choosing to let BJ determine his fate.
At worst, we needed a swing. Good pick. I expect him and Kiran to fight for the start of next year. Maybe Jones takes it back later.I feel a lot better about our OT depth.
I'm not expecting him to start, I expect Jones to start. But with the injury woes and lack of talent on the line last year, I'm very glad they put a premium pick into a backup OT who can fill in on either side. Like it or not, OL depth is a need for this team after Williams threatened to be the most sacked QB in a single season.
Because of trades, Poles spent a sixth rounder and next year's fourth rounder on starting guards, spent a second on a backup OT, and signed a really good center in FA. That's a great investment in the line for one season.
Raise your hand if you had Isaac TeSlaa going before Shedeur Sanders.
I don't know anything about Texas A&M's DC, but there have been a few guys discussed here that did better before transferring to A&M or better after transferring out, or just didn't get utilized properly. Did they hire Mel Tucker when we weren't looking?Looks like some of his negatives can be attributed to poor coaching. Dennis Allen will get this guy on point — with his tools/potential beast!
Definitely not on my bingo cardRaise your hand if you had Isaac TeSlaa going before Shedeur Sanders.
Blows my mind no one thought WR was a need. We are absolute cheeks outside of DJ and Rome. Lol. The threat now with Burden and Loveland is absolutely a matchup nightmare, add in Swift/draft pick, wow.
