every play CANNOT be scripted
but the season long narratives very well could be
Thinking 5 dimensional chess, multiple and alternative, flexible narratives that can flow into the next moment.

We have all witnessed the refs take a game from the bears, or give one to green Bay. 17 calls to zero and crazy shit like that, but player involvement is usually a running back or wide receiver or backup QB.

Even more nefarious would be to like convince a player to sign a non disclosure, and that the league is scripted, hush hush nobody can talk about it, here is your payment your in on it now, and give them scripts and turnover instructions, lol. "Its all part of the plan Benny", when its not the league directing him at all, but some suits from Vegas posing as the league officials, maybe using a hall of famer you trust like OJ Simpson to "introduce" you to the scripters

Scripted? No. Influenced.? Yes.

If an offense is down more than 1 score with less than 10 minutes in the 4th quarter, defensive holding and defensive PI calls shoot thru the roof.

They aren't scripting a team to win, but they are certainly trying to keep a game closer for longer than it would be naturally.

And that is just one example. Its not like the NBA where they are pushing a certain team to win, the NFL is not that desperate, but they are influencing games.

That explains the dropped TD against the Saints. I'm on board now with this theory.

IF the NFL was scripted, this is the only thing that makes sense. The only thing that could really effect the outcome are the refs. Goodell doesn’t sit in the locker rooms before game and tell players what to do.

I don’t think it’s all scripted, or even most. Two times stand out to me: the PATRIOTS SB win after 9/11, and the Saints only SB win after several years of devastating hurricanes hitting their city. No one will convince me those two weren’t planned ahead of time.

Meh.

If you were going give the Saints a pity trophy, it should have come three years earlier when their magical 2006 season was ended by a bunch of pricks from Chicago. Three years later is a lame ending.

And the Pats didn't need a script...they had video cameras instead.

So Saints recovered surprise onside kick to start SB 2nd 1/2 because scripted?

Not saying one way or the other, but the way in which Mahomes got miraculously better prior to Sunday? Amazing.

I feel like if the NFL was scripted teams from big cities would have much more success.
