NHL 11 News

Well we had one for 10 so might as well kick this one off.



On EA Sports's facebook page they announced broken sticks (meh) and a real time physics engine (OMG) :dance: :dance: . So if they do it just like Fight Night Round 4, there are no more canned animations it is all generated on the fly which means no more dumb animations that shouldn't happen. So if that is how it will work, give them a couple years to polish it up and the game will be all sorts of awesome.

Yeah I really hope they integrate the CHL into Be A Pro. You know you play like a season or two in the CHL then decide to be draft eligible, get drafted and then they decide if you get moved to the NHL, AHL or stay in the CHL. That would be so cool. It would add some depth but if they do that, in NHL 12 they need to then add the NCAA and Frozen Four.



edit: just read they are integrating it into BAP, but I hope they do it the way I want them to.

it technically also means there "should" be no more glitch goals. Broken sticks are another excuse for someone to send me hate mail on why they would have kicked my ass if their stick didnt break.

Im not sure if they will go that in depth. I mean essentially EA sells multiple games in football and basketball for the NCAA. EA is all about the benjamins, so it depends on the work involved, an NCAA standalone hockey game wouldnt sell enough and not having it in NHL wouldnt drive people away, so I dont think well see it.

I sure hope they do. It would be a blast to actually have to make a career for yourself and the thing I always hated about BAP is that sure I could get promoted to the 1st line except my guy's skill set was 3rd line at best.



As for NCAA, I can see it being added because I doubt anyone didn't buy NHL10 because they didn't have the CHL. I think EA wants to expand the content and I can see them adding NCAA into it.

Concession stand nachos with the yellow glowing cheese. And they say they are free but they are actually part of a limited edition pack that cost 5.50 more than the stand alone.

New dekes, real time physics, new face-off system, broken sticks, playing without a stick, jumping over players, being able to make passes while down, different goal celebrations, disallowed goals.

The hawks are curse breakers. The Hossa curse has been killed, the cover curse kane killed it. Toews would destroy it so hard that he would win the Hart, Smythe, and SC while blindfolded and fighting a midget.

Okay I wont lie watched the video and Kaner's last goal had me pumped just to see the Indianhead kicking ass.

For those that missed the toews cover images, I saved a close up as well as the puckdaddy image: let it be known, hockey fandom across north america that are ea nhl players are up in arms over 2 hawk players in a row, so I think it might get scrapped. But this was 100% on EA's website.
