How hilarious is this that CCS is arguing over which seriously injury prone RB we want to give millions of dollars to to come pair up with D.Swift and hope they can last a full season in a part time role. LOL

I'll take either one, i just want to have a good running game to help Caleb.

Well, in all fairness, drafting and signing injured players is the Bears mantra.

Honestly Chubb at 75% is still better than Swift or RoJo. Yes I believe that.
I'm still trying to figure out how reaching for Omarion Hampton and 1500+all purpose yards with 6-7 TDs would be any worse than reaching for a slow TE that's going to give you 400 yards and 4 TDs.

Harbaugh took two players that I liked with Hampton and Oronde Gadsden in the 5th and it will pay off for them too.

I agree with your assessment that Chubb would be a better option than anyone in this roster, the problem is that Chubb is toast. He is not going to stay healthy.

The same logic doesn't apply. My concern isn't about future injuries otherwise I wouldn't want either. It was about can the guy come back from the injury and play well. Dobbins did already. Chubb has an uphill battle to do that still, although if anyone can, I'm sure it is him. He's an incredible leader and works harder than anyone.

You said if teams believed in Chubb he would be signed already. Same goes for Dobbins.

End of the day Poles messed up in the draft so we are stuck in this position. How he didn’t get a starting RB is impressively incompetent.

Chubb has already come back from a significant knee injury. While in college, he tore the PCL, MCL, and LCL in his left knee. He also dislocated the knee and suffered cartilage damage, which, by the way, was a more gruesome injury than the one he suffered in 2023. In his second year back, after his first injury, he rushed for 1,400 yards. His pro career speaks for itself.

Loveland is not slow for a TE of his size. Your rookie stats are most likely accurate though. I’m good on reaching for a RB in round 1. RB was undervalued for years and now it is becoming a little over valued.

He's not a slow tight end.

And if you cant figure out why a slot receiver is more important than a RB in todays nfl you are beyond help

Do people think the bears are winning the superbowl in 2025?

The loveland/burden picks were for the future. They likely wont even combine for 1k yards as rookies. Thats why you still have kmet on the team.

Ben Johnson clearly thinks he can get an elite game changing tight end in loveland, similar to the kelce and trey mcbride mold.

Chubb was also waiting on the Browns; he wanted to return there and probably would have if they hadn't drafted Judkins. By the way, Cleveland picked up that second-rounder in the trade with Jacksonville.

Neither of those guys have a benefit of signing with a team prior to the draft.

If they didnt get signed during the first couple waves of FA it was better to wait and pick a situation where you can actually get reps.

Having a second serious knee injury in the back end of an rbs productive years is exactly why I question his ability to return to form.

Chubb has been an incredible player and from everything I've read is an amazing teammate but at his age and having multiple major knee injuries, the odds are stacked against him. Again, if he signs an incentive laden vet minimum deal, I'll be cheering for him to get his juice back, I just don't think it's overly likely and he wouldn't be my first choice.

Got it. Major knee injury after 2 games and then broken foot after 8 games. Its his age 30 season after two major injuries...

It always comes down to money, how much should they sign him for? Keep in mind they are paying Swift $8M.
too many on here trying to talk themselves into believing Chubb can regain his 2022 form coming off injury and in his age 30 season, these things rarely happen in the real world, false optimism at best

Another old back that nobody really talks about is Jamal Williams who had success with Johnson. I kind of hope they do what the Ravens did before Henry and just sign all of them lol.

I think most people believe he should be healthy and productive, not necessarily perform like one of the best backs in the league. Personally, in a split role with Swift/RJ/Monangai I could see him rushing for 800-1000 yards at 4.5 YPC. Both would be below his career averages, but still good production, especially on a cheap contract.

The draft is over, vets have not been released. Now was the time for Chubb to start rumors about teams signing and to drum up interest....he has a window
