I respect the fool out of Lennon and the Beatles, I kind of hate their music but I respect what influence they had over music.

I don't think a lot of people acknowledge what a cultural tour de force the Beatles are/were. Their music is pervasive in this country. Love em or hate em, everyone knows their songs. And not just a couple hits, but dozens of them. I don't think a lot of people realize how big that is.

The Beatles are another overrated band. Their influence can't be denied, and it's another band that I do like, but people go off the deep end with them. The Rolling Stones and The Eagles are two more.

While Nirvana is my least favorite of the grunge bands, they deserved to be recognized.

After it's all said and done I think Dave Grohl was the most talented out of the 3.

So weird how fans approach music. How so many people have the attitude that if they don't like a band's music, it means they suck. Which is nonsense.

Personally, I have two approaches.

There is the shit I really like to listen to all the time and think is great.

But there is also the shit I don't really like to listen to but respect as great because of their dedication to craft, impact on music as a whole, and importance in the history of music.

If only the RR HOF thought like this, then perhaps Stevie Ray Vaughan would be included.

Yet, he's been dead for years and overlooked for such bands as the Sex Pistols and Rod Stewart.

Or perhaps, it is their taste that differs from mine...

Whatever you say hippie. Insults from your mouth are akin to shit from an ass. They stink and deserve to be flushed.

The Sex Pistols are rightfully included because of their iconicness (if that's a word) and influence, but I agree with you also about the Moody Blues; fantastic band and should be in too.

The Beatles are another overrated band.

If you're talking about their music, it's subjective (I'm not a massive fan myself). But they're not overrated in terms of their influence at all. They're still easily the most influential band of all time.

Just consider yourself lucky Mozart isn't here!

I'm talking music. Their cultural influence is there, but people mistake that with their music. Anytime you challenge that, people go off the deep end.

If you think of the number of songs that people can sing along with despite never buying an album, there is no other band in modern history that is in the same ballpark, shit even the same planet as the beatles. Don't have to like them, but I don't see how you can call that overrated.

Thing is with the beatles, its not just the music itself but the sheer volume of it that is staggering. You put on almost any album and people know the shit whether or not they own the albums or ever bought them.

Moz would just be contradicting himself with referring to Brian Wilson.
