I'm aware it's gotten better, although in some ways it's gotten worse. Last game I went to this year, I got shaken down for cash by some friendly local chaps. They wanted $10 to park on Wood. After I explained that street parking was free, they kindly reminded me that vehicle protection costs money. Needless to say I told them no thanks and I parked hassle free over on Warren. That type of shit never happened 5 years ago, but I agree that the area is slightly better today.
But looking at other cities- they just offer so much more. Though maybe with some creativity, Chicago could be utilized effectively. It would take some work.

i agree its not in a gold coast part of the city with shopping and museums and what not. It has come a long way but there is much work that still needs to be done. the vehicle protection has been going on since atleast 89 when I remember my dad giving each of the 3 kids a 20.00 to watch the car, we came out of the game, the 3 kids were standing right at the car, my dad said thanks and the kids were happy. I will say this, i wouldnt want my wife walking alone at night anywhere near there.

Watched Tavares play junior when he was with Oshawa and then London. I was at the game he broke the OHL career goals record and did it with a hat trick. The first time I saw him he had six points on seven Oshawa goals. That game had Tavares, Taylor Hall, Ryan Ellis and Adam Henrique.
