When it comes to the Melo speculation, it's basically a gamblers theory.
Have you ever bought a lottery ticket for a dollar? Especially a Big Game or Mega Millions ticket a few days in advance? That might seem like a waste of a few bucks, but that simple one dollar game ends up being hours of entertainment. You dream about how you would spend that money, and in your hand, you now hold some chance that intensifies that dream. It's mere entertainment, and the Melo speculation is not much different. Other than playing on our real life emotions and situations, it plays on our emotions as a fan of the Bulls. As long as people don't fall as hard as they did for the LeBron-a-thon, it's all good clean fun.
Whether or not it happens, we do need to keep an eye out for what happens here. Either a move with Carmelo will give us more competition through some other teams gains, or it will only screw up a few teams, and make the regular season a little bit easier for many fans.
