There's a chance Phil holds out for Luke Walton though.

Walton will get it. Thibs isn't really a Jackson type coach, IMO.

Always figured Walton for the Lakers job. There will be competition for him.
Blatt is another option, but I don't see him coaching again this year.

So, he'd want a coach that already knows it then. But in the case of Luke Walton he had all this success with the Warriors O. May be time to scrap an out of date offense.

I agree and I think it's silly to look only for a coach that runs the triangle. That said, I think beyond running the triangle, Phil is looking for a certain personality type. One that fits his zen nature.

Luke probably doesn't want the Knicks job. Lakers will probably fire Byron Scott by the end of the season so they will be looking. Lakers are going to get a top draft pick and Westbrook will be LA bound soon. Plus it's LA. I'm sure that's Walton's preference.

Always had Walton pegged for LA. Not too sure on Westbrook heading there. Won't happen until after next season anyways.

He's from Long Beach and went to UCLA. Plus he's narcissistic enough to fit in with the LA lifestyle. I think he's LA bound for sure.

KD played college ball in Texas And David played college ball in Kentucky. RW was in Cali all his life through college. His ties are much greater in that area. LA will also have the money once Kobe is off the books this year.

who says its out of date? if I remember correctly, a triangle run team won it all last in 2010....somehow 2010 is out of date? the triangle can still win titles...just need the right personnel. just like if you want to play small ball you need the right personnel to do so
