No, it’s an explanation as to how your confirmation bias is causing you to perceive something that isn’t true. You’re pointing to the exceptions to the rule. If you can get over being spoiled, which has more to do with the parent than the child, then being a professional athletes child is an advantage because they probably have access to better health, nutrition, and performance enhancement than most other people. However, developing discipline, sacrifice for the greater good, and determination is damn near impossible when you’re given everything. Shedeur’s main weakness isn’t physical. It’s mental. And it won’t improve unless he is humbled. He needs to be a leader and leaders exhibit traits that shedeur just doesn’t have. Maybe the draft is the humbling experience he requires to improve his mindset. Maybe not. We will see.Sooooo, you have zero other examples and are defaulting to word salad mode. Got it
You have no idea what is the exception and what it is the rule. The vast majority of pro athlete's kids don't become pro athletes themselves, maybe because they aren't interested but certainly because it's a genetic lottery and many didn't win it despite their lineage. You also have no idea how the vast majority of them are raised. No, it’s an explanation as to how your confirmation bias is causing you to perceive something that isn’t true. I was referencing a quote from a general.I would hope we all know at least 1000 times more than what we know here, whatever that means.
It’s simple human development. It doesn’t take much understanding at all. The less hardships you face, the softer of a wimp you become. You have no idea what is the exception and what it is the rule. There are lots of examples of success though.
Shadeur is also a margin athlete for an NFL QB, not a good runner, not an above average arm.
That is one of dumbest platitudes I've ever heard. There are a ton of people who grew up easy and are tough, or vice versa. Humans are extremely diverse. It’s simple human development. It doesn’t take much understanding at all. The less hardships you face, the softer of a wimp you become.
That was Rumsfeld during his hawkish WMD days.I was referencing a quote from a general.
I’m going to butcher it, but In war, you know what you know. You also know some things you don’t know. You also don’t know some things you don’t know. There are also things you think you know that you really don’t.
Nope. You aren’t born tough, you learn to be tough. You can’t learn to be tough unless you do tough things. That is one of dumbest platitudes I've ever heard. There are a ton of people who grew up easy and are tough, or vice versa. Humans are extremely diverse.
It doesn't take much understanding at all, because you clearly don't have much.
How does that make you feel about soft people in power that were raised with a silver spoon, got out of civil service etc? It’s simple human development. It doesn’t take much understanding at all. The less hardships you face, the softer of a wimp you become.
Politicians are detestable people. They are the type of person who, with very little actual world experience, look themselves in the mirror and say, “Yeah, I should be in charge of everything.” Anyone in that game is a narcissistic PoS in my book. How does that make you feel about soft people in power that were raised with a silver spoon, got out of civil service etc?
Anyone whose actually been around people knows that people from easy backgrounds can learn toughness and people from rough backgrounds might not. Making the argument that only some people can learn toughness is extremely dumb. There are people who play pro sports from all backgrounds, people who are successful and who fail from all backgrounds. This is very obvious, only a dolt would argue otherwise.Nope. You aren’t born tough, you learn to be tough. You can’t learn to be tough unless you do tough things.
Idk. I feel like you’re more likely to be tough if you shoot a deer from a tree stand and hang its head in your family room to remind you of how tough it was to kill something from 100 yards away at no risk to yourselfAnyone whose actually been around people knows that people from easy backgrounds can learn toughness and people from rough backgrounds might not. I think anyone who buys thousands of dollars worth of Cabela gear and then flies to Africa and shoots apex predators from the top of a bus and then puts their heads up in his den is even more of a real man.Idk. I feel like you’re more likely to be tough if you shoot a deer from a tree stand and hang its head in your family room to remind you of how tough it was to kill something from 100 yards away at no risk to yourself
Did I argue otherwise? I’m saying toughness is learned and people who are given everything typically don’t learn it. You can go 30 years through life being a wimp, then experience hardships over a short period that make you tough. To my understanding, you think people can just be tough without ever doing anything difficult. That’s preposterous.Anyone who’s actually been around people knows that people from easy backgrounds can learn toughness and people from rough backgrounds might not. He’s another politician.
I have a sneaky suspicion that he's not long for the NFL good or bad.It isn’t that complicated. The guy was a d*ck in interviews and is clearly horribly entitled. The upside for him is that he has an opportunity to prove a lot of people wrong. He has a chance to have the last word. If he works out the Browns will be very happy. If he doesn’t work out, he’s just another failed 5th round pick. Time will tell and I hope he gains some humility.
You're understanding is idiotic. Read what I wrote. That's what I meant.Did I argue otherwise? I’m saying toughness is learned and people who are given everything typically don’t learn it. There is a difference between confirmation and confirmation bias. We have multiple examples of players children from privileged up bringing doing well in the NFL and 1 example where the child is so spoiled he is an unmitigated asshat that even his talent couldn't overcome with regard to draft status. Using him, the exception to the rule, as the standard, that is the example of confirmation bias. No, it’s an explanation as to how your confirmation bias is causing you to perceive something that isn’t true.
