I don't understand what happened to the 'wet foot laws'. They seem to have disappeared.

Didn't Obama go to war with them in the middle of the night? Wait, Congress didn't approve it what? I'm so fucking confused. It's ALL A LIE I SAY! A LIE!

Wait a minute? He is too busy vacationing to tell us what his fucking "plan" for the economy is, but he can do this shit while on vacation, no problem? Oh yeah, I forgot, no speech required to circumvent congress. RK I know you were being sarcastic, but I've said that all along because I am a cold hearted bastard who hates poor people:

Close and secure the borders. Drop leaflets and advertise in every Spanish news outlet that starting Month,Day, Year........the USA will no longer allow illegal trespassing. Anyone caught crossing our border illegally will be shot on sight.

"Oh, but what about all those jobs that Americans just won't do?" Unemployment problem solved. Bingo!

All of Congress is on vacation as well. This country is going through one it's most crucial economic times in history and they are ALL on vacation. Greatest Country in the world.

And only part of me was being sarcastic. I'd have stopped BOTH Police Actions years AGO and transfered a good percentage of that to our SOUTHERN BORDER!

Keep American Dollars IN AMERICA!

I hear you Ron, but here is the thing. No one is stopping a LEGAL citizen from sending money earned here on the American economy to friends and relatives in another country. So I guess I don't see the argument.

Thats one thing that baffles me. How many people we allow to come here on work visa's legally even when we dont have enough jobs for the people that are here.

I dont know what the employment situation is for most software developers, But Seriously, as a native born American i am a minority in my workplace and it seems we have a new indians here on work visas every month, alot of them ultimately become citizens and stay here, but still theres got to be some out of work developers that already live here that could be employed.

On another note, those jobs americans dont want to do, they would start doing when those employers start jacking up the pay grade to attract workers, because without them they have no business (provided theres no illegals to do them).

To be fair and balanced (since fluffity cited Fixed News) I am providing the link to this story from a 'lame stream media' source.

http://www.cnn.com/2011/POLITICS/08/19/deportation.policy/index.html

...

As President Barack Obama packed his bags for Martha's Vineyard this week, the Department of Homeland Security announced its intention to individually review roughly 300,000 pending deportation cases in federal immigration courts. Lower-priority cases -- those not involving individuals considered violent or otherwise dangerous -- will be suspended.

Administration officials call it a matter of prioritizing cases and allocating scarce resources more efficiently. Critics call it backdoor amnesty, a way to push through policy changes that conservatives in Congress would never agree to.

This much is clear: The fate of America's roughly 11 million undocumented immigrants remains a polarizing issue. Politically, the timing of the administration's announcement is as relevant as the substance.

I suppose other than them not paying taxes and or those who ship that money back south to the other 100 people in their extended family. So I agree and disagree on that statement. Some of it stays here, tax free as far as income tax goes.

I was more referring to the ones here illegally.

Does your comment mean you believe this country was illegal from its inception, or laws are made to be broken, or ???

That depends. There is some irony in most americans thought processes, that conflict with the ideals behind the founding of our nation.

The American Revolutionaries committed treason against the british crown, the reasons are irrelevant as there are always two sides to the argument, both believing they are right.

Right, but a lot of those illegals don't send the money home. They pay rent, buy groceries, buy and operate cars, etc. I am not saying it doesn't happen but they get a bad rap and are blamed for the unemployment rate. The people in line getting an unemployment check don't want to work in a field in California picking produce. I have a feeling they wouldn't mind working in a safe, minimum wage, factory job though. The bigger issue is that nearly all of our textile and electronics manufacturing is done in other countries. Bring that back first. Then politicians can worry about whether or not there are too many undocumented workers or non-citizens taking 'our' cash and sending to latin countries.

that's why I said a percentage. I think more send money back to their HUGE extended family than you are implying. I do agree and disagree with you.

One of my things with keep American Money in America is start moving some of those jobs back here. How that's done to combat the chinese sweat shops is another issue all together.

There was a brief synopse of the Polical Garg Candidates have produced. There is a company in California, made in America, that quite a few of the Candidates used. But then there were a bunch of other candidates that had those items MFR'd in China. Americans are not even aware what and where they are sending jobs and money these days.

When asked, the Politicians sending money and jobs to China for goods, had no clue. Another issue to go in the "fixing the economy" thread.

Unfortunately we will never know unless the government stops everyone at the border and looks for loose change or they ask Western Union to check receipts of all 'cash' sent to Central and South American countries. My favorite part of the whole issue is that you can readily find this number "11 million undocumented illegal aliens"...if they are undocumented how do we know how many there are? Also, if they snuck across the border to get in, do they sneak across the border to get out too? Or do the border agents on the other side just say "welcome back senior, how was your vacation?"

Border agents on the other side are doing one of two things. 1. avoiding being shot by the drug cartel. 2. Aiding and abedding the drug cartel in assisting them with transporting the drugs.

I'm pretty sure anyone "dumb enough" to return probably has NO PROBLEM. Unless shot by the Drug Cartel. purple or not on this one hahaha

And the entire time the CIA is funneling weapons to the Drug Cartel...

Pete I'll make it easier for you. Go to Wal-Mart and head to the money center. Check the rates to send money within the USA, to foreign countries other than Mexico, and finally the rates to send money to Mexico. You will see the majority of money goes to Mexico (that's why they have the cheapest rate)

tit for tat, but it was the FBATFE not the CIA that sent guns down there. It was actually a good idea but when they tried to track them and go to arrest people, they were told to stand down because America South (Mexico) is a sovereign nation.

We just need to add it to the union and be done with it already. No purple needed here either.

Yeah, cause we don't already have enough poor, unemployed, unskilled, sick people in our country. No purple needed here.

No thanks. Mexico can keep their mess. Close the fucking border and be done with these people. We also need to stop sending so much fucking money to other countries for aid. Especially when our country's infrastructure is crumbling around us, without the money to fix it. I'm so sick of the US being the welfare fund for the rest of the world. In my family, I don't donate shit to others less fortunate then myself, unless my family is ALL taken care of. If I have money to spare it is going to my family or friends before strangers. Why should the country be any different? You get your house in order first, then worry about the neighbors around you.
