But it's still all subjective. I don't think The Beatles are the best band ever. Say that, and watch people lose their fucking minds, hence why I believe they're overrated. That doesn't mean I don't like them, I think their music is pretty fucking good, and "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" and "A Day In The Life" are two of my favorite songs of any band. However, if I have the choice to listen to The Beatles or Led Zeppelin, it's Zeppelin, pretty much every time. Just different tastes, but because I don't bow down to The Beatles as the greatest ever, people go apeshit on me.

True Zeppelin is the shit. But that's like choosing between a Ferrari 458-italia and a 458-Spider. It's still a fucking Ferrari! When you get to that tier of bands like the beatles, led zeppelin, floyd, the stones, even bands that I don't particularly care for like Kiss, you have to give it up for them.

Yeah, but I The Beatles are that caliber so it's only fair to compare them to another band of that caliber. I can't say I'd take Ratt all day over The Beatles because, it isn't true for one, and two, Ratt isn't anywhere near The Beatles IMO, and probably most others as well. But when you start getting into legendary bands whose music has stood the test of time, there's quite a few I'd go with over The Beatles. Zep, Floyd, The Who, The Doors, Metallica, Sabbath, Hendrix, Queen, I just like their music more.

The problem comes when people confuse the word overrated with suck. That's usually where the arguments stem from. It's possible to suck and be overrated (Tim Tebow, Poison, Lil Wayne), but being overrated doesn't necessarily mean you suck (The Beatles, The Eagles, WindyCity).
