okay folks, here's your chance. I keep hearing everyone spouting 'the hawks need to dump Slow Ass, and get Whosee Whatsit....let'e hear it. Who do you see going and coming or who do you wnat to see go. Yeah, kind of early after the win last night, but instead of doing this crap in game day threads, do it here.

I hear the yammering for Scotty jr to pick up a second line center .... here is my choice: Brooks Laich from Washingotn. He is a UFA next year, and made 2mil/yr. I think he would fit in remarkably well with the Hawks system. Also he is not afraid to go into the corner and get a little "dirty."

As far as who to get rid of: I don't really know. As much as I would like to see Soupy's contract go away, anyone thinks he isn't an important cog on D is delusional. Trading away Sharp would be a mistake too, in my opinion.

Before I forget, Dream....I still think Kelly Ripa would whoop your ass.

Brooks Laich is a good call, bubble.

How about Zenon Konopka centering the 4th line? I know Pez has also mentioned him.

I honestly just want to see them fix the 4th line oddly enough. I think they have a lot of what they need, just need to get it organized and add some depth for the injuries. Re-organize a bit, solidify some lines, and run with it. My main concern is going to be backup goalie.

We need a 2nd line center. Sharp is 48% over the regular season in the dot. Bolland was terrible at 45%. So yeah Sharp isn't a center, we need one.

Uh no dead serious. We need a real 2nd line center that can win 50% or better. Sharp is a winger not a center. Sure he can positionally play C but his faceoff work needs help.

How about a 4th line that consists of Madden, Eager and Burish?

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Resign Crawford to a reasonable 2M/per contract.

Resign Kopecky at a cheap low-1M/per contract.

Go from there.

Forget the line names, we need a center who can play with Hossa. Bolland is our #2 C, doesn't matter what line he plays on.

Keepers:

Crawford

Campoli

Kopecky

Frolik

On the bubble:

Hendry

Brouwer

Johnson

Stalberg

Scott

Dowell

Turco

Gone:

Pisani

The only reason I say Stalberg and Scott are on the bubble and not flat out gone is because it depends on whether or not we can actually gain any improvement by signing another player to a similar small contract, if not might as well keep them. If someone on the bubble is not re-signed that's OK too, but assuming most/some are:

Keep Smith full time.

Sharp/Toews/Kane

Bickell/Bolland/Frolik

Kopecky/Laich*/Hossa

Brouwer/Johnson/Smith

Reserve: Dowell, Scott

Everyone already knows the D-core, #2 line and #3 line are obviously interchangeable. I left Stalberg out because I decided Dowell and Scott might be a bit more useful as reserve guys.

*Question marks as Hossa's center, just used Laich as an example to see what it would look like with a serviceable guy and he was mentioned.

Pass on Kopecky i think we can upgrade him. Shame too when he is on he's exciting but more often that not he's like his lover a ghost.

I'd take him for up to just under $2M.

$1.8M sounds right.

I'd rather see what's available before resigning him. I just think we can get an upgrade for the same price.
