According to several poster on here, those would both be Fields fault. Don’t know how, but they would find a way to spin it.
Against Philadelphia, it was almost criminal how quickly the protection broke down. Fields took a beating but he kept the Bears in the game until the end.According to several poster on here, those would both be Fields fault. Don’t know how, but they would find a way to spin it.
Ok, let's take this one seriously for a moment. IF Payton is allowed to run the way they did in the day - he can lower a helmet and dive over the pile and all that - then you have a QB that will outrun everyone, a RB that will run through everyone who isnt above 260 lbs (and will shock a few big DL who arent ready for him), and three guys who can each take 4 catches and do something with it... Against an INT-happy QB with his favorite weapon who will force it to him every play and has lost several opportunities to make the playoffs with most of that exact crew signed up for him.
If i had to guess, Poles is probably wanting Claypool to ball out and be the guy he pays alongside Moore since he brings the size/jump-ball element that Mooney doesn't. Not that Mooney isn't good but he's an easier receiver to replace than a productive Claypool. Heck, Tyler Scott might be that guy.Poles was gambling on Claypool, in that his early production out played his draft status, but his latter did not. Poles is gambling on him producing at his earlier level. This season will tell the tale.
It's going to be a fun season.
I still dont think this team should trade draft picks for him, or at the very least I would not want the team to offer more than a third round pick. If Fields improves, I would want Poles to consider taking DE with both first round picks, or one in the first and one in the second. While the cap total is reasonable enough to accommodate a new contract for Young, the only way that that makes sense to me is if there appears to be a bad crop of DEs coming into the draft.
I think if you can get him for a 2 and a conditional 2nd I would do it. Even if he has a marginally good start to the season he's going to cost something similar to what the Broncos got for Chubb, which was a 1st and a 4th. Miami then signed Chubb to a 5 year $110M contract.I still dont think this team should trade draft picks for him, or at the very least I would not want the team to offer more than a third round pick. Tyler Scott will most certainly be that guy.
