I think if you can get him for a 2 and a conditional 2nd I would do it. Even if he has a marginally good start to the season he's going to cost something similar to what the Broncos got for Chubb, which was a 1st and a 4th. Miami then signed Chubb to a 5 year $110M contract.
This is where I see Chicago paying more and not getting enough. Right now, without knowing what this team has, it needs to prioritize conserving the draft picks that will carry it into a positive direction. That is not to say that Chicago isn't in need of DE - I want to draft two of them with top picks anyway. And given that my view that draft picks are lottery tickets with different odds (and some ability to improve chances with skillful selections), it should appear that I would be willing to trade draft picks for productive players.

I feel the excitement of this team that makes it appear as though it is poised for a wildcard birth. But while I am very confident in Fields, this team should NOT trade draft picks away until Fields shows that he is certainly the player we all hope for him to be. That doesn't mean that he has to prove it in this season or the team makes a move to a new QB, but it does mean that draft picks for next season should be preserved right now. If Fields looks good enough to pick up the fifth year option, then drafting DE with the picks you would have sent to get Young is still a good investment.

Chase Young, at 24 years old and is arguably a better prospect with more upside than any pass rusher in next year's draft. If you're giving up a pair of 2nd your still protecting the two firsts you have next year, which would be a huge win, I also think the Bears will have a very good idea of where Justin Fields is at by the trade deadline, and if they have to give up more then, they at least do so knowing the state of the team by then

I would move Hurts behind Mahomes and Burrow
Recency Bias.

99% of CCS was cunting that we dont have a WR and were happy when we got Claypool.

He might end up sucking balls for us, but I don't think it was a terrible mistake compared to the shit many GM's do in the league. He needed to get fields help because VJJ was a bum
I have questioned the Claypool trade from inception, for a variety of reasons. Choosing the team over my own bludgeoned ego however, if Claypool lights it up this year and proves my initial doubt about him wrong, then I'll be a very happy camper.

Hi Daniel,

No journalist here. Is that the 4th quarter Fields you mentioned?
8 plays out of 7 games in which the Bears lost the game by seven points or less. You honestly believe those 8 plays over the 17 game season made the difference between Justin Fields being good and the worst QB in the 4th quarter?

Those 8 plays made the difference in 7 games that were winnable in the 4th quarter? That's the gotcha moment "you're not really a journalist" YouTube package you came up with? 8 plays....

My God I guess when you want to be right any miniscule bit of help you can give Justin Fields will make you look like a genius.

With even minuscule additional help, Fields pulls out wins against Washington, Detroit and Miami. The Eagle game becomes a toss up as well as Minnesota. If you can’t see that objectively, they should immediately revoke your privileges to write any more ridiculous articles for free on this site.
