Lions really could have made some big long term improvements in the draft. Instead they targeted non-premium positions and ignored their biggest weakness.Except the bears are a whole lot more than a dominant DT away from being a contendor.
That was by far the biggest need for the lions...
I'm not sure if he works out or not, but I'm very glad the lions didn't take him.
No reason they can't sign both but not mentioned is what's already here and future fit. If Tyler Scott looks the part, guess which guy he more likely threatens to replace? I'd like to see both Mooney and Claypool show themselves as worth a contract. Not certain why people assume mooney is on the way out. Prior to him getting hurt Poles and Getsy liked to talk him up a bunch.
If he comes back and is decent, he's very good friends with Fields and you could get him for a relatively cheap price. He makes a lot more sense to bring back than Claypool since he fits Fields downfield playstyle more.
He and Kmet always seemed like locks for a second contract on offense prior to the mooney injury.
If the Bears show the same turnaround in year 2 as the Lions did, tell me you won't be happy?
If past history is a precursor to future success, because at the moment it is the only argument Bears fans seem to want to make, then why is it not fair to also bring into the conversation of the Bears past history in competent QB play? Same logic.
or
You could just judge both franchises based on
1) Current Ownership
2) Current GM
3) Current coaching staff.
4) Current Roster
Can't wait to see Tyler Scott do work this season. Not a lot of defenders in this league that can match his speed if he breaks free of coverage.Last one for now that I have not seen yet
You know what's ironic? Fellow rookie CB Terrell Smith posted a faster 100m in high school (10.39) than Tyler Scott did (latest I could find is 10.6). This draft class has some speed. Can't wait to see Tyler Scott do work this season. Not a lot of defenders in this league that can match his speed if he breaks free of coverage.
Honestly, he is what we wanted Devin Hester to be when they decided he could be a receiver. Only Scott is fluent in English.
