I didn't realize he was a FA. So he's an interesting dude. He's played all over the place. RT, LT, LG, RG. PFF seems to grade him as average to above average, but he did give up 9 sacks this year and committed 8 penalties. I feel like the Bears should aim higher, but no denying what he did in the playoffs and Superbowl against Haasan Reddick, who gave the Bears fits.
He was by far their worst OL this year and i think we have to take the field being so wet/slippery as part of why Reddick didn't get to Mahomes which Reddick has been complaining about.

Justin is so likeable and wholesome, but he has the competitive edge at the same time. I’m 100% sold on him from the mentality/leadership/teammate side of things. Listening to him talking that silly autograph signing/photo “controversy,” Justin just seems so down to earth and intelligent. The idea of trading him away for anything short of a top ten QB and draft picks…is just unthinkable to me.
I see it as if you trade him away, you have to almost be certain that he will never take another step on the team he went to, and that whatever rookie you draft this year better be a HOFer instantly, cause the way a good chunk of this fanbase calls for the backup to take over after one bad play, that QB is gonna have to be amazing out of the gate.

Also, not trading the #1 pick to get more picks and improve the rest of the team also takes a step backwards, so new QB will still have pretty bad weapons all around him.

Did he flop back to us keeping Fields?
Oh no he kept up with his last one and compared what Fields did with his OL, WR's, RB's and C.Kmet to what Daniel Jones was able to do with a worse OL, WR's, TE but a better RB obviously. Said Jones was able to put up much better stats with a much worse offense around him and talked about how Pitt got more out of Claypool with Pickett and Trubisky than Bears did with Fields. Talked about how Bears fans have to stop with the "he didn't have anything to work with" talk.

He once again made a lot of sense in everything he said.

There is no one worse than Mustipher. Even if there are 4 all pros but he is starting, then its going to be a bad Oline. Yes he is a really weak link. Also the offense production dropped when Mooney became hurt and Jenkins was unavailable.

One of the worst crops of head coach candidates in recent memory meets one of the most obviously doomed head coaching jobs ever. I cannot recall anyone with such an underwhelming coaching history hired to be an NFL head coach.
Matt Nagy anyone?
This guy was at least a full coordinator not just a flunky.

Lots of Bears fans continue to delude themselves on Fields.

Another mediocre year and Fields trade value is 0. Right now he may get you a 1st round pick.
Yes and a monkey may jump out of Colin's butt.

He talked about how the Bears OL ended the year ranked 14th and the Giants ended 30th. Talked about how Mooney and Claypool are better than any WR they have and would both start for the Giants who also dealt with a ton of injuries at WR and talked about how Kmet would be their starting TE and all of this is true.

Albright used to be “in the know” but yeah he seems to have been off quite a bit past few years and has also became very douchy
Colin is friends with Sean Payton and has dinner with him regularly, I think Payton uses him as a tool to leak shit he wants out there.

This is true. As does Cousins, Jones, Dak, Goff and Stafford is probably never going to be the same guy.

As Amari said, Dak is the Black Kirk Cousins. Goff can have nice stats in perfect situations but will choke up on the big stage.
Yes all those QB's mentioned are losers.

Which one would you choose if you could only pick one? I really like that Carolina one and the Tenn one but they all look pretty good.

The Colts............imo with this trade da Bears will have high 1st & 2nd Rd picks this year & next year from them, which brings trade capital, if they decide on a new QB direction. 2) With the 4th pick, maybe, a big maybe, The Titans still want to trade up and offer this year's 1st & 2nd, plus next year's 1st. More capital for next year. 3) Keep the 4th pick. Da Bears need alot of help, as we all know. I hope for both trade downs. This draft Bears would have the 11th pick (1st Rd) 36th, 42nd, 54th (2nd Rd) 65th pick (3rd Rd, 1st pick) Plus 3- 1st Rd, 2- 2nd Rd picks in 2024 And with the 11th pick they can find a Starter. They found 4 last year w/o a 1st!!! Plus Velas had a few good games at the end of the season. This year 's draft would have the possibility of turning this franchise around........ finally!!! This scenario not probable, BUT possible.

He's nothing more than a bridge QB and any team thinking he's anything more than that are going to learn a hard lesson. But he's going to get Dalton money and my main point was this - the Raiders would be my ideal trade partner because I think they're going to be terrible in the next two years. Indy has that same vibe, Carolina not so much.
I am not disputing that Jimmy G is no more than a bridge. I just don't see a team trading three #s for Bryce Young to sit him for a year behind a bridge QB.

There is nothing I would trade him for - period.

I don't necessarily agree. The value of a first round pick over a second rounder is 5 years of controlled cost instead of 4. Because a HB doesn't last, that 5th year option is essentially an extra franchise tag that you use on the guy while he still has miles left.

Given the bust rate for first round picks, if the GM has the strongest feeling that the RB will pan out instead of an other prospect, you have to seriously consider it. It takes a special prospect to be worth the pick, but there are rare players that fit the profile.

All that said, I don't think this team needs a home run hitter necessarily. What this team needs at RB is an any-down back that stays on the field. This team needs Matt Forte not Chris Johnson.

True, if the best prospect when you pick is an HB, you have to consider it even in the first round. But you're def bummed, lol
