It's a good way to build a bad OL. Been the bears method for a long time. Not sinking any real value in the OL is a terrible idea.
No.

This is a great way to build the OL as long as the holes can be filled in with FA. The knock on OL coming out of college, especially the last couple of years, is their lack of development. Once you add the fact that they get limited reps dude to the contract, you recognize that drafting attributes gets you starters like BJ on the left on a fifth round rookie deal. I’m looking forward to seeing Ja’Tyre Carter. I think he’s going to surprise some people this year. He may push for LG.

So, it is a great way to keep a pipeline of talent open.

Pretty sure the rams nabbed Carter.

Also, are we already forgetting the teams that just played on the Super Bowl? Which one of them only used 5th round picks to build their o line lmao

I have no interest in dealing with Houston unless it gets the Bears another first round pick. Either later in this year's draft or in next years. I know that's a steep price that Houston might balk at but there's no guarantee of a second trade down being possible.

Bro, Skoronski doesn’t trigger me badly based on who he is. What pissed me the **** off was the boneheaded lazy pick based on a fixed value ideology. Value is not immutable; it is relative with fluidity.

We do not need a LT. Yeah, there are some straight up meatheads clamoring to replace Braxton Jones. They are out of their fucking minds. Nah, we need a RT and a C, and, maybe, a LG. RT, despite the current vogue of sayjng it is basically LT, is different, because it needs to be a people mover. Skoronski is not that. It’s not his skill set. He will make a team happy who runs the risk of drafting him for LT.

I’m thinking of of a trade back scenario for my next mock where we trade with Carolina and then pick up an extra second from the Jets so they can move up and take Skoronski. He would make perfect sense for them, not us.

I was pissed at the sheer lazy analysis and value-based mock drafting that was akin to helmet scouting QBs.
Along with Vice-President @Anytime23 and our actual president whose username I can't remember, I'm the Recording Secretary for the CCS Branch of the Braxton Jones Fan Club. Yes, he had trouble handling the bullrush, but it's crazy to me that people don't think he's going to work this offseason to get stronger.

I am in the camp of drafting an OT and a C, and bumping Borom to LG. Let Poles/Cunningham do what they are supposedly great at and scout the offensive line. At that point you have Jones/Rookie-Borom-Rookie-Jenkins-Rookie/Jones. At that point you have all 5 positions across the line under the age of 26. That to me sounds like a recipe for success. Keep Schoefield, keep Reiff, keep Cody so you have those veterans, but you have the chance to build that line for the next 10 years.

As for Skoronski, he is going to run into some trouble with his arm length, and while he may think he's an LT, that isn't going to matter if the team that drafts him prioritizes that for the position. Teven Jenkins' arms aren't much longer than his, and that makes me wonder if that's the reason they wanted him to move inside. Larry Borom is over 33" in arm length.

FWIW, Braxton Jones' arms are 35"

WHEN SOMEONE BROUGHT YOU A PLAYER THAT DIDN’T MEET THE PROTOTYPICAL STRUCTURE, HE WAS AN EXCEPTION. GENERALLY SPEAKING, THE PROTOTYPE HEIGHT, WEIGHT AND SPEEDS WERE ADHERED TO AS STRONGLY AS POSSIBLE. TOM LANDRY TOLD ME ONE TIME, “BILL, IF YOU START DRAFTING EXCEPTIONS, PRETTY SOON YOU’RE GOING TO HAVE A TEAM FULL OF EXCEPTIONS.”

THE PEOPLE — AND FORMER RAIDERS’ OWNER AL DAVIS WAS AMONG THEM — WHO TOLD ME IF YOU DON’T HAVE YOUR PHILOSOPHY ON PERSONNEL AND YOU DON’T HAVE YOUR PROTOTYPICAL VALUES IN PLACE ON PERSONNEL, PRETTY SOON, AND THESE WERE THEIR EXACT WORDS, “YOUR TEAM LOOKS LIKE A DOG POUND. ONE OF THESE … ONE OF THOSE … BIG ONES … LITTLE ONES … ONES THAT BITE … ONES THAT DON’T.”
I saw this, good stuff.

Cooper Kupp will be thirty and Aaron Donald thirty-two when the season starts. Matthew Stafford is thirty-five and one hit away from forced retirement.

That whole story with Sean McVay wanting out at the end of the year was him seeing the writing on the wall. Sure sounds like a decision was made then to tear down and rebuild. Wouldn't be surprised if anyone and everyone on that roster is made available.
They better find a way to recoup a lot of draft picks, the cupboard is bare.

I think he means Ja'tyre Carter drafted last year along with B. Jones, he was on the 53 all year I think. I agree he could be a sleeper this year.

It was such a ducking dump. The company I worked for in college ran junket trips to the Bahamas, the other casino they worked with was the Atlantis. I never got to stay there, they always had me handle the customers that stayed at the Palace. When I left the gaming industry a few years later, my former boss got busted in Georgia running an illegal poker house. With Disco Inferno nonetheless

Yeah had several family members that worked there. Much of the old Crystal Palace site is where the BahaMar water park is now so much nicer. What's left od the old structure is used for storage and was a Covid testing site.

I posted that 2nd video on here last night. I like how he talks about how the Bears should use Claypool kind of the way the Jags used E.Engram with more underneath routes and crossing routes.
Funny enough Steelers had him in slot this past year

I don't think the RT needs to be a people mover in this system. McGlinchy isn't that. And I think at 8-10 there's nothing wring with taking a guy who maybe fits at RT or inside, especially in this very underwhelming top 10-15. Is that Skoronski? Not sure. Hard to think you agree with Zierlein on him being #7 overall though.

Minimeski sounds a little triggered, but I will defer to what you write above.
