Just sign Ben Jones and keep Patrick to back him up. Who cares if B.Jones is 32-33 yrs old. Sign him to a two year deal. And he already has a relationship with Nate Davis since they played in Tenn together.
Won't happen. Does not fit the young, ascending, cheap contract blueprint Poles can't seem to get away from.

I think there's a reasonable chance that we draft an heir apparent C and play Whitehair there this year. He saves very little to cut him this year. Move Davis to LG and Cody at C. This is my guess.
CCS said we'd save $10 mil by cutting Whitehair. Is that not true?

Could very well go in the 1st. Definitely won’t be there at 53. Bears would need to either trade up or trade down from #9 to like 16-20 and pick up an additional early 2nd
Funny how this guy wasn't even being talked about until he went and killed the combine.

Yeah im pretty certain he's not a 1st rounder and if he is that is good because then better players are dropping to round 2.
Maybe he even drops to the late 2nd round and we can grab him there if they believe in his tape.

Apparently its one-hundredth overall, but according to Tankathon that belongs to the Niners and hasn't been dealt. Not sure exactly what's going on here.

Great trade for Oakland by the way. Darren Waller's cooked as can be.
Tankathon still shows Miami's forfeited pick. Niners pick you see as 100 is actually 99.

i think the likelihood is whitehair stays and is the backup center to patrick...with davis taking over at LG and no good options on the free agent market, whitehair could be a good backup for patrick or even take patrick's spot at C...

I'm surprised there hasn't been more action in day 2 of free agency, both for the Bears and in general.

I really hope we draft a C who takes the job from Patrick.

I'd still keep Whitehair...it isn't as if we need the space and he's a plus to have around while providing quality depth. Cut Whitehair in '24.

That's big.

They just cannot seem to get over the hump. It's a good team, but they just cannot seem to execute in the playoffs for whatever reason. Maybe that's coaching. Maybe that's personnel. I don't know.

That team is too talented not to at least win the AFC. They remind me of the Washington Capitals. Regular season darlings, and then crumble in the playoffs.
I wonder how much the Darin Hamlin incident impacted them last season- it almost seems like they were a little shell-shocked after that happened.

So you think paying Whitehair $10 mil to be a backup is the best idea? I'd rather just cut him and use that money to bring in someone to replace him or start at C or a couple rotational guys for the OL.

I think Allen’s arm injury was worse than originally. He was committing more TOs after he had the elbow injury.

Feels like the 2nd wave of FA and technically FA hasn't even started yet

the bears are flush with space, its not like they need the money. bring in who exactly that is a scheme fit and can back up all three spots?
