OBJ has to be one of the most overrated players in NFL history by Bears fans. He is a good not great tackle which is precisely why he remains unsigned. He has grossly overestimated the market for his services and now hoping someone gets desperate so he can save face.
No, I think Brown is un-signed because the league views him as a RT and won't give him LT money.

If it comes down to it Bears MIGHT give him LT money to play RT. Right now, it is a game of chicken between Brown and the NFL.

The dude produces as a swiss army knife. But he's definitely a luxury. And he wants a trade for a new contract. No thanks
I wouldn't be opposed to 3 years 33 million giving up a 6th or 5th round pick.

Yeah and my point is I agree with the NFL. He isn't worth elite LT money.

I think you can only do 4 at most (consecutive years, I mean). Unless it's on draft day itself. Something like that.
I think you can, but it would mean that you would have to have multiple 1st rounders multiple years or one year with multiple 1st rounders and make the trade on draft day.

A team can trade their 2023, 2024 and 2025 1st round picks today or up to 2026 on draft day. That would only be 3 or 4 1st rounders, so it would require multiple 1st rounders one or two years.

It would depend on what he wanted. On a three year deal, maybe. Unfortunately, he is on the wrong side of the age department for his position. He will be 28 at the start of the season and an extension will pay him for 29, 30, and 31. Most RBs production drops off significantly after that and can usually be replaced by younger, cheaper talent.

Over the last 10 weeks of the season Braxton Jones ranked 13th overall with a 78.8 grade with 2 sacks, 12 pressures and a PBE of 97.1. Brown was 7th overall with a grade of 80.7 with 2 sacks, 17 pressures and a PBE of 97.3.

So this idea that OBJ is a massive upgrade at LT isn't really true. Jones after a rough start was one of the better tackles over the last 10 games of the season. Some Bears fans are fooled by big names and shiny objects.
I honestly do like PFF but to provide this statistic without a single shred of context is pretty criminal imo.

Says nothing to do about scheme, play calls, percentages, opponents faced, situations of the game…. Nothing at all.

We know for a fact the bears couldn’t hold a pass protect and this changed the entire way the game was called. This changes how other teams play and line up. This without a doubt has a huge factor into these win rates. Also doesn’t include if they got help at any point I believe.

you'd take him over Monty? That seems like a lot of money
Yes think he is better than Monty. More explosive runner, more proven in the pass game. Monty a better pass blocker.

I didn't post win rates. Win rates are ESPN not PFF. PFF grades take into account who is believed to be at fault for the sack or pressure. They have Fields responsible for 23.9% of his pressures and 13 of his sacks. Mahomes is responsible for 21.2% or 5 sacks.

It is also pretty criminal to claim Brown is a massive upgrade without a single shred of context. How much was Brown helped by the scheme and the fact Mahomes is perhaps the best QB at maneuvering the pocket? Or did I miss where you provided data to support your massive upgrade claim? Can't be one sided about this.

I’m sure there’s 10 other guys too we’ve never heard of.

Plus the draft.

Plus cuts.

Plus trades.

Ekeler's a stud but his age for a running back is nearing the danger zone. I hope the Bears don't make a deal for him.

I would focus less on age and more on carries. He has averaged less than 15 carries every year of his career and with Herbert we can keep him under that threshold. Of course he catches a lot out of backfield but that takes less of a toll so really not a lot of mileage on his body.
