Yeah, I see what you’re saying: instead of correct side per arm relative to side of the field, let them just go “backwards” using their dominant arm where they feel comfortable.Some guys would be better off backhanding those catches (wrong arm on top, thumbs in like when right at your head) but arm tie themselves up or get caught between which hand on top trying to do it 'correctly' even if it's not as natural to them.
I have to admit, I’d try correcting his technique, but there’s a lot to be said for letting a guy do what is comfortable, even if it may ultimately Lower his ceiling.
I think it was Emitt Smith that always carried the ball in his left arm. It would have driven me nuts, but he didn’t fumble. So, there’s much to be Said for letting him just do what works, as long as it isn’t catching with his body instead of his hands.
