Hub Arkush lol
What was your takeaway?Literally just saw that episode earlier
Hubs source is Ryan PaceHub did clarify that he doesn't know the extent of the conversation, and then said that it could have just been a casual conversation without explicitly asking him about the job... For whatever that's worth.
This is the same guy that said the Bears were more likely than not to bring back Ryan Pace just days before he was fired. I'd feel more confident if this kind of information came from Adam Schefter or Jay Glazer, but I'll take whatever I can get as long as it's about Harbaugh and the Bears lol.
Plus it seems his deep dive into coaching hires suggest to hire the lifer (OC/DC) vs a retreat.Hub did clarify that he doesn't know the extent of the conversation, and that it may have been a lot more casual than them explicitly asking about his interest in the Bears job. For whatever that's worth.

Dave Wanstedt was just on a podcast with Colin Cowherd and said the Bears haven't reached out to Jim Harbaugh yet. And I think Dave is pretty close with Jim, like Hub supposedly is. Who to believe....
The michael scott paper company fleeced emWhat was your takeaway?
I think you're making the opposite point you're hoping to.
The fact that each of these coaches was hailed as a genius, who later sucked when they didn't have Manning or Brady is the very reason many fear that Leftwich is getting too much credit.
Maybe Leftwich is an offensive genius. But when all his success is with Brady, it's hard to be sure.
People are constantly saying Daboll was a failure until he had Allen, because his offense did not have the same success with Brady Quinn that Leftwich had with Tom Brady.
Obviously the Bears aren't trading Justin Fields, but if there was at least one coach who wasn't sold on him, it has to be Brian Flores, doesn't it?
If he hated Tua as much as he did, I'm not sure why he would view Justin Fields any differently. Complete guess here, but I think he's too headstrong to have the patience to develop a young quarterback. I think he wants to go somewhere with an established veteran quarterback or he wants to bring Deshaun Watson with him wherever he goes.
So we are essentially saying the same thing, I am just not adding the race card as you are.No I am making the point those guys still got HC opportunities and that Leftwich is being judged in part by the failures of those white coaches. So them possibly being a product of Brady didnt stop them from getting a HC gig but some people want it to stop Leftwich from getting one. Leftwich should be judged on his own merits not on the merits of other coaches just like Fields should be judged on his own merits not on the merits of other Bears or OSU QBs.
I am also saying a top 5 O is still a success even if it came with 30 Ints. The 2019 Bucs lost 3 games by more than 7 points in which Winston threw 4 TDs and 12 Ints. Outside of those 3 games he had 29 TDs and 18 Ints and in 5 of 6 of the other losses they were tied or leading heading into the 4th. The other one they were down by 7 to the Saints.
I say that to point out I dont think 3 really atrocious games by your QB int wise means the O as a whole was not a success. Winston like Cutler would snowball when things went south. The Bucs problem in 2019 was they couldnt close out games.
So we are essentially saying the same thing, I am just not adding the race card as you are.
