Why would the Pacers want to pay Marc Gasol unless they want to get rid of Hibbert?

And Mayo is not a good option for the Bulls unless they can get him for Asik (ideally) or Taj Gibson. Mayo doesn't exactly space the floor all that well and is not very good defensively.

Mayo definitely would fill a role the Bulls need offensively if they use him right though. It's more of the defense that I am worried about.

I think you are right! I think that's why we didn't want to give too much for him. But if we could get him less he'd be worth the risk. If he lives up to his potential then he'd be worth going into the tax for, if he doesn't cut our losses.

But after typing all that I just remembered hes on his rookie deal so I dont know how much cap space it would actually give them...

Yeah I think that's why the Bulls really wanted to give up a pick for him and maybe Brewer. So it won't be huge of a loss if he walks after his contract is up. But its widely assumed that he will go to get paid. So I doubt the Grizzlies keep him.

@paulcoro: Grant Hill, after a lengthy workout at US Airways Center, said there are "good chances" of him re-signing with the suns

Revenge of Heisley continues. Hearing nothing but pessimism from teams after Marc Gasol. Consensus: RFA MGasol's return to Grizz = formality

Yeah. I never was big on Mayo. I thought he was alright in college, never thought he was all that at all. It seems like he is a good spark off the bench. But I know he wants to start. But he took away from Conley when he started since he needs the ball in his hands. I don't think its a coincidence that Conley came into his own once Mayo went to the bench and Conley was able to have the ball in his hands more often to run their offense.

The Spurs are believed to have been in contact with representatives of at least four free-agent small forwards: Dallas’ Caron Butler, former New Jersey Net Bostjan Nachbar and Washington Wizards Josh Howard and Maurice Evans. San Antonio Express-News

Warriors still chasing Tyson Chandler (best fit along w/Nene and RFA DeAndre Jordan but also in Kwame mix w/PHILLY/BOS/NYK/ORL and, yes, CHA

But make no mistake: Warriors rank among most serious suitors for Tyson Chandler. If TC and DAL can't work it out, GSW is spot he could land

It'll never happen. Him staying healthy I mean.

If the Heat do get him, then I hope you're right.

But a guy can't that unlucky 4 years in a row haha

Bulls to begin negotiating with Hawks about sign-and-trade deals for Jamal Crawford, Nuggets for Arron Afflalo

They’ve reached out to a number of free agents, but sources close to the situation say that the Bulls are also exploring the possibility of a sign-and-trade for either Jamal Crawford or Arron Afflalo.
Chicago has been in contact with representatives for Crawford and Afflalo since Wednesday morning, and now the team is “getting creative” as they try to land one of the highly coveted guards. The Bulls will contact the Atlanta Hawks and Denver Nuggets to see if either team is interested in a sign-and-trade deal, and sources believe Chicago will offer a package that includes Ronnie Brewer.
