is that the prison where there are 100 cop cars?
We do have a prison. Medium security I believe Called the Sierra Conservation Center. Technically the address is Jamestown but it is closer to Copper than Jamestown.

Have you visited?

I grew up off highway 108 30 minutes above Jamestown at 6,000 feet.

So I know the mountains and cool nature places to get to in the summer.
Pinecrest?

Got some Gorilla'd Cheese yesterday. 31% THC, very heavy indica body buzz. Smoked some with my girl last night. Knocked her the **** out. She fell asleep putting kiddo to bed. Haha!

I know most of you have no clue about the absolute disaster in Calaveras County concerning the legalization of pot farms. People voted it in, farmers spent approx 15 million in permits and startup fees and then the BOS decided to ban the farms. This past August they voted again and agreed to allow it again. But along with that I found they also came up with a new ordinance attempting to get outdoor grows out of residential areas. The new ordinance states that plants must be 75' from any public or private property. Since my lot is only 145' wide they have effectively shut me down from growing outside. I am still going to give it a shot and see where I get but the sheriff just put out the word that they would be enforcing it. That is going to severely affect my yield if I am restricted to growing indoor.

No more 2 pound a plant yields I guess. I am sure I will be ok until they start stinking but I live on a one way road that everyone uses getting out of the neighborhood. I only have one neighbor I know of that might complain but I am pretty sure she is to stupid to know there even is a new law

Wish me luck

The govt. givith, and then take away. They can't tax what you grow.

That may be the thought process, but it is incredibly shortsighted. You can make people purchase permits on a sliding scale by using something like square feet of the grow area. Law enforcement had enough trouble shutting down homegrown before decriminalization, why bother to continue to try when you could just collect an annual fee and move on with your lives?

I think the major complaint people have is the smell. To us it smells great. To others though it smells like a family of skunks has taken up residence in their backyard. It is still perfectly ok to grow indoors. I have not looked at what it would take to grow 4 plants inside. The lighting alone I would imagine to be in the thousands.

Then again it could be a tax thing as well.

Yeah, I guess could see that. Seems pretty petty, but I am a city boy that had to deal with living near things like rendering plants and airports and just accepting them as realities of life.

I think my real problem is going to be the fact that the sheriff's deputies use my street to get out of the neighborhood and they are going to smell it. But then they have to go through getting a search warrant and I think the fine is like a 100 bucks and confiscation of the plants.
Hopefully they will figure it isn't worth it and just let it go.

You can grow four good sized plants under one 1000 watt hps light. Cost you about twenty bucks or so a month to run it.

You can get that ballast, lamp and bulb new easily less than 500... But nothing wrong with decent used gear on the old Craigslist.

The law they are trying to pass here has no grow provision, but reduces the penalty if you have three or less mature plants and less than eight plants total the fine is 75 dollars.

I have a 350W CMH in my grow tent now. I guess I could invest in a larger light and carve out 8 feet of space to grow indoors if I have to.

I am not sure where you are in Cali, but I would bet there are a bunch of people that try to grow their own and either fail or lose interest and then try to sell their gear. Around here it is usually less than half of new in box pricing.

I would never use a used bulb of course, but the hood especially I would buy used. Then you can just add a new ballast and bulb and guaranteed you are good to go.

Also, a friend I know uses LED to grow medical, but that shit is VERY expensive to get into and I feel like his yield isn't that great compared to what I have seen people using HPS yield in similar sized spaces.

CMH is the newest thing. It is cheaper to run than HPS and actually rates a bit higher in quality. Mine is actually a 315W not 350. Rask sent me a DM suggesting low smell plants which I had not thought of. The less smell I generate the better chance everyone just lets it go.

Reading that suggests that they are still a little light on the red spectrum. It even mentioned supplementing with hps during flower.

The largest yield and best quality I've seen is keeping it simple with florescent or mh veg and hps flower.

It's interesting though from a heat and cost efficiency perspective.

Careful, you don't want your penultimate/permanent residence to be beneath his floorboards.
