I just watched the part again and it didn't seem like there was any communication between Walt and Todd. I think Todd just stepped in so he can have Jesse help him cook.
And I think if Walt didn't want to see Jesse dead, he wouldn't have said he found Jesse. Then nod when Jack asked "good to go?" to kill Jesse. Then let Jesse get dragged off after he told him about Jane.
Maybe Walt changes his mind after he finds out Jesse isn't dead. But at that moment, it seemed like Walt wanted Jesse dead.
I re-watched it myself and think I may have been overreaching on any communication between Walt and Todd. Still can't shake the feeling though that Walt is really the reason Jesse is still alive. If Walt really wanted Jesse dead...why let Todd take him away instead of insisting Jack "pay what he owes" right there in front of Walt?
He definitely wants to hurt Jesse...hence the confession about Jane, but I still don't believe he really wants Jesse dead.
Maybe all that changed as soon as Hank died...maybe Jesse and Walter have seen the last of each other. Or maybe Walt realizes that Jesse is all the family he has left.
It is going to be a wild two and a half hours of television. The best thing about this show is that after 62 episodes along with brief sneak peeks at the final episode(s)...I still have no concrete idea where they are going with this.
Kudos Vince Gilligan...kudos!
