This one is of a couple that would often have the youth pastor over for a meal. Mark had such respect for them that this song is their story

A few months after his grandmother had passed away he opened her diary and in it had letters her sons had written when they were in war. It inspired this song

This one is an upbeat song reminding Christians about God’s Sovereignty

Mark was a youth pastor for a while and he knew of this family that had a young son who told often of his hand hurting. So after a doctors visit the doctors told them there good news and bad news. The good news is that there's nothing wrong with the hand. The bad news is that your son has cancer.
*
The mother would often come in and rub her sons back so he could fall asleep from the pain. His father would wake up in the middle of the night and watch his son sleep and just pray in tears to the Lord
*
For the longest time Mark was so grief stricken he couldn't write the song. Then one day God asked Mark if he had a son with cancer. Mark responded no. Asked if he had a son at all and Mark said no. 45 minutes and the song Mark credits God with was done

First day off in 12 days. Guess what I'm doing tomorrow? That's right, nothing.

A tornado destroyed my house yesterday, so I'm now living in a van down by the river.
