Yeah, it's one of worst in recorded history. I believe number 18 most violent wth the wind speeds.
Scary stuff. Still like hearing stories about that: a very famous tornado in the storm chasing community.

What's most terrifying about these F-5 tornaos is the ability to literally suck you into the deafning, dark roar of a tornado as your body pratically gets dismembered by 260+ mile hour winds. Horrible way to go, if you ask me.

DO NOT stay under a bridge overpass if a tornado is in your area. The wind speeds increase.

The Joplin tornado still freaks me out. I just think the sheer terror of the moment must be if you were getting sucked into a tornado. I mean with 250+ winds, you have no damn chance of survival. But surely you must be a live for a few seconds. That's pure fucking horror right there. What a violent way to go, too.
