When a guest asks if they can feed one of my dogs off the table, I say no. When we are eating my dogs are in another room, there is a reason for that, they have never been fed human food, never been fed from the table, so when we eat they go away.

Nothing worse then being pestered by a dog when you're trying to enjoy a meal.

Bah, the dogs need to be trained better then. I feed my dog leftovers all the time, and they never beg while I am eating, At worst they may lay on the floor next to me, and never a whimper (but they lay on the floor next to me almost anytime I am stationary). The "don't feed dogs leftovers" is a myth perpetuated by the dog food industry. Now of course you don't want to feed them crap (by why are you eating crap?), but left over meat, veggies, etc are perfectly fine. The truth of the matter is, most dog food is crap.

Not feeding the dogs human food works perfectly, no begging, no going after garbage, no extra training needed. My dogs have always been healthy, they have always had long happy lives, why the hell would anyone mess with that kind of success. There is just no reason to fix something that is working perfectly.

Bah!

You don't feed the dogs from the table, you mix the leftovers with their normal meal. This way they don't beg. Again, almost all dog food is crap. There are recalls on dog food all the time, from euthanasia drugs, to Salmonella, and the big wheat gluten fiasco in which I personally lost a 6 month old puppy. Just google "dog food recall, and learn.

How about I google the fact that 'human' food kills people all the time. You are so far out there you don't even know about killer lettuce. Dog food recalls, and you are completely oblivious to human food recalls? You killed a 6 month old puppy with your methods, that is just another reason to stick with the way I have always done things. My dogs get very old, then they die after long happy, healthy lives, I'm going to stick with what works. But by all means you keep killing puppies, if that's your thing.

I'm so happy I vow to never personally attack a poster on here again.

I'm sorry!!!

We got him guys. And we got a GM that takes o-line serious. A new era in Chicago Bears has begun and we should stop the fighting that has been totally understandable and more forward arms locked, in support of the Bears, unified like no other fan base in the NFL and show this league what made this city special in 1985.

I love centers!!!!! I loved this one!!! "My favorite to come out in a while!" In one move Pace upgraded two positions for sure, outside chance idea was 3!! Thats how you fill multiple holes right there!!

The Bears have the power to unite this City across race, and class, and gender, and generation. Go Bears!! Bear down Chicago Bears!! Its time!!!

I've never fed my dog human food, but I love him so much that it hurts me when I'm eating a steak and I pour him a nice cup of brown pebbles. He just stares at me like 'wtf dad, this is bullshit'

Hey dipshit, do you even have a clue what your talking about? As usual, probably not. The puppy died because of tainted dog food, moron.

he 2007 pet food recalls comprise the contamination and wide recall of many brands of cat and dog foods beginning in March 2007, and the ensuing developments involving the human food supply. The recalls in North America, Europe, and South Africa came in response to reports of renal failure in pets. Initially, the recalls were associated with the consumption of mostly wet pet foods made with wheat gluten from a single Chinese company. After more than three weeks of complaints from consumers, the recall began voluntarily with the Canadian company Menu Foods on 16 March 2007, when a company test showed sickness and death in some of the test animals. Soon after, there were numerous media reports of animal deaths as a result of kidney failure. In the following weeks, several other companies who received the contaminated wheat gluten also voluntarily recalled dozens of pet food brands. One month after the initial recall, contaminated rice protein from a different source in China was also identified as being associated with kidney failure in pets in the United States, while contaminated corn gluten was associated with kidney failure with pets in South Africa. As a result of investigating the 2007 pet food recalls, a broader Chinese protein export contamination investigation unfolded, raising concerns about the safety of the human food supply.

By the end of March, veterinary organizations reported more than 100 pet deaths among nearly 500 cases of kidney failure,[1] with one online database self-reporting as many as 3,600 deaths as of 11 April.[2][3] The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has received reports of several thousand cats and dogs who have died after eating contaminated food, but have only confirmed 14 cases, in part because there is no centralized government database of animal sickness or death in the United States, as there are with humans (such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention).[4][5] As a result, many sources speculate the actual number of affected pets may never be known, and experts are concerned that the actual death toll could potentially reach into the thousands.[6][7]

Overall, several major companies have recalled more than 5300 pet food products, with most of the recalls coming from Menu Foods.[4] The contamination was caused by melamine in the affected foods. The Chinese company behind the contaminated wheat gluten has initially denied any involvement in the contamination, but is cooperating with Chinese and American investigators.

In the United States, there has been extensive media coverage of the recall. There has been widespread public outrage and calls for government regulation of pet foods, which had previously been self-regulated by pet food manufacturers. The United States Senate held an oversight hearing on the matter by 12 April.[8] The economic impact on the pet food market has been extensive, with Menu Foods alone losing at least $42 million from the recall, even without taking into account reduced sales.[9] The several waves of recalls, many issued late on Friday evenings possibly to avoid media coverage, and the events have caused distrust in some consumers.[10]
Reports of widespread and possibly intentional adulteration of Chinese animal feed with melamine have raised the issue of melamine contamination in the human food supply, both in China and abroad.[11] On 27 April, the U.S. FDA subjected all vegetable proteins imported from China, intended for human or animal consumption, to detention without physical examination, including: wheat gluten, rice gluten, rice protein, rice protein concentrate, corn gluten, corn gluten meal, corn byproducts, soy protein, soy gluten, proteins (includes amino acids and protein hydrosylates), and mung bean protein.[12] In a teleconference with reporters on 1 May, officials from the FDA and U.S. Department of Agriculture said between 2.5 and 3 million people in the United States had consumed chickens that had consumed feed containing contaminated vegetable protein from China.[13]

It was after this I changed from being a moronic lemming like you that bought into the Pet food industry's bullshit. But forge on in your ignorance.

Nothing worse than an oblivious expert. You're worried about pet food recalls, educate yourself.

Every time I'm scrolling through my channel guide and see "Conan," then turn it on, I'm incredibly bummed that I'm greeted with the sight of some red-headed bird-man twit rather than a bare-chested Arnold rambling on about Crom or punching out a camel.
